Just moved house, and we now have a Worcester 28CDi RSF combi boiler.
The place has been empty for a while and rented out before that. The rads are full of air and the heating system has next to no pressure (.2 bar) in it. No problem I think to myself, open the filling loop, bring it to operating pressure, bleed the rads, fill again etc....... working heating :)
But no, first up I can't see a filling loop. After finding the instructions for the boiler I find out it has an integrated filling loop, great, but needs a key inserted, further rummaging about, finds the filling key. Read the instructions further to find that you put the key in then open a grey knob to pressurise..... what grey knob..... that's missing too  Can't find it anywhere :(
So ordered a new filling loop assembly just to get this stupid knob, that turns up, shove grey knob on to spindle only to find the reason it's probably missing is that some halfwit has rounded off the spindle and it won't turn it - doh!
Don't know what to do next, it's getting beyond my DIY skills. If the spindle weren't recessed into the housing then it would be easy enough to get a pair of pliers on it, but I can't. Could try gluing the knob on but don't want it to get stuck altogether. Don't really want to damage the knob either as I guess the next step is paying someone to come round and fit the new filling loop assembly I now have. (Is this a DIY job?)
Any suggestions?
Cheers,
Graz :)
