View Full Version : Bangor cruise scene
SUBJAM1 03 October 2007, 21:39 Hi Guys,
Does anyone know what sort of time the Sunday cruise in Bangor kicks off at,
i.e. is it all day or pretty late on a Sunday night???
PS. Also does anyone know of any track days before christmas??
any advice right or wrong appreciated
Ricky81 STi 03 October 2007, 21:58 Haven't a clue bout the cruise things, but as far as trackdays go at kirkistown there is one this sunday 7th Oct then sun 21st Oct and a further one the weekend after rally ireland in Nov.
geoffo 03 October 2007, 21:59 the bangor thing goes on most sundays - i helped with the whole damn thing from the site to shows for a long time till i got fed up with certain elements. ppl get together around 7-8 onwards - checkout Bangorcruise.co.uk (http://www.bangorcruise.co.uk) "jimbob" is a guy worth talking too...
swrc have track days SWRC | sideways-racing.com (http://www.sideways-racing.co.uk/) but various other clubs have oter events far better checking those out in my opinion but swrc is easily accessable for all.
SUBJAM1 03 October 2007, 22:04 Cheers guys, I notice that the Kirkistown one this Sunday is run by GTINI Club, I assume VW based, do u know if Subarus are welcome??
plus it says helmets are a must, is this usual?
if so where do u get a reasonably priced helmet???
geoffo 03 October 2007, 22:08 the guys at the gti club are pretty kool abour running wot u bring, get a lid mate we always use them, any moto-bike shop has them, ive used my moto-x one for years.
i think the lads are on here Club GTI Northern Ireland | Club GTI - For GTI Nutters by GTI Nutters (http://www.clubgti.com/members/regional_blogs/show_region_info.php?id=58)
SUBJAM1 03 October 2007, 22:15 Cheers very helpful
Ricky81 STi 04 October 2007, 21:50 I would tread very carefully at an SWRC day!!
geoffo 04 October 2007, 22:33 I would tread very carefully at an SWRC day!!
this is maybe true - our car got hit hard twice but thats racing and it wasnt a banger beleaf me!
PMC555 05 October 2007, 10:07 I would highly recommend Trackskills (Their Next day is the one on the 21st at Kirkistown)
Very well organised and numbers of cars limited to a reasonable amount and by the afternoon you can pretty much run as much as you want.
The regulars who attand are capable and sensible (which believe me is
good thing sliding round debtors at around 115 in close formation!)
(Plus if loook at their website Track Skills - Providing Track Days for cars at Kirkistown Race Circuit in Northern Ireland (http://www.trackskills.com) thats me on the front page!)
I'll be there on the 21st
Cheers Paul

I only get to 1-2 days a year
Were you there on 3rd August - were you in the clio then - there were a couple of clios out that day - which one were you?
What sort of lap time do get, I'm doing about 1:13 ish on a good one
but taht is being very easy on the brakes, I find that the lightweight
stuff, exiges, 7's etc are way better on the brakes, but I can pull some of them back on the straights.
I've got an itch to buy a car only for the track at the minute,
(The sub really shows its weight out there, on brakes tyres etc)
so might try to blag a ride in some of the lightweight stuff on the 21st
Here hoping for another dry day
Paul
Ricky81 STi 06 October 2007, 19:40 Think it was on the 11th August paul, It was a saturday so thats the only one of the year I can't make it to.
I'm doing low 1:11's on a dry track, I can make up a lot of time on the brakes but maybe loose a bit on the two long straights. Yeah the Exige's and Westie's are hard to live with, unless it's wet of course which levels the playing field nicely!!
I'll see you at trackskills in a couple of weeks then all being well, I'll maybe blag a passenger lap with you!!!
