View Full Version : around a toilet? wwp8 02 October 2007, 11:06 how do you go round a toilet with wooden floor. (real not laminate) MattW 02 October 2007, 11:39 You don't, you mount the bog on top. richardg 02 October 2007, 17:10 You don't, you mount the bog on top. agreed. flexi hose pan connector or one of those slightly offset ones will help you yellowvanman 02 October 2007, 17:32 You don't, you mount the bog on top. That is without doubt the prefered way to do it :thumb: But if you must fit it around the pan, then you need to scribe the cuts very carefully and then hopefully a bead of silicone arond the base of the pan will cover the join. wrxcraig 02 October 2007, 21:19 get some cardboard and make a template or place toilet on flooring and mark and cut. wwp8 03 October 2007, 01:15 the floor is 15mm, the underlay is 3mm, if i put it on top, will it affect anything? MattW 03 October 2007, 07:05 Possible that the existing cold water feed won't fit, so you'll need to plumb it back in, easy with a flexi hose. You'll probably have to raise the cistern as well, so that will mean reattaching to wall. Asmentioned above, the waste will need to be looked at. Nothing an above average diyer can't do. yellowvanman 03 October 2007, 07:08 the floor is 15mm, the underlay is 3mm, if i put it on top, will it affect anything? Assuming that the outlet from the pan goes out towards the wall, rather than down, then the outlet will obviously be slightly higher, and the connection to the soil pipe may be slightly out. This can be overcome by using either an offset pan coupler, or as a last resort a flexible pan connector. Also the cistern will be raised, so the inlet may need to be extended slightly? |
