Petem95 30 September 2007, 13:32 I was really hoping Alonso and Hamilton would take each other out, allowing Kimi to go on and win :(
Oh well! Looking like the championship is going to be won by Hamilton in the McLaren-Ferrari.
Fingers crossed they take each other out in the next 2 races however ;)
Luminous 30 September 2007, 13:43 I care little about team politics. As far as I am concerned they should all race in identical cars, with just setups being different and perhaps a few other things. The more like F3 the cars become in competitiveness the better imo.
The end of the race was awesome though, Masa grass tracking and winning. I would love to see a reply of that :D :D
jaytc2003 30 September 2007, 13:47 Ferrarri should have all their constructors points taken away for blatantly trying to cheat! :nono:
Everyone knew the tyre situation except them, I mean come on us at home i england watching it live and they are 100 yards away from the person who gave the instruction
Leslie 30 September 2007, 13:53 I was delighted that Hamilton won and he did drive an outstanding race. He never put a foot wrong and he was lucky that Kubica's mistake did not take him out of the race. It was illuminating that he left the others for dead in the final stages of the race.
Alonso may have had a problem which caused him to lose control, we don't know yet but he can still win the championship as can Raikkonen who also drove an outstanding race in the end.
One of the most exciting F1 races for a long time.
Les
Prasius 30 September 2007, 13:57 Alonso had a problem alright - its called Karma.. ;)
The universe will aways get you back for being a t**t.
:lol1:
Leslie 30 September 2007, 14:56 If I was in Rod Dennis's position, I would give him full support until the end of the season, and then boot him into touch!

FlightMan 30 September 2007, 15:24 The alarm went off at 05:00 and for the first 10 laps I was thinking I could have stayed in bed. So glad I didn't.
C'mon Lewis, not far now. :luxhello: :luxhello:
Big :notworthy to Massa and Kubica as well. Memories of Dijon with Arnoux and Villeneuve.

Is Rod Dennis any relation to Ron Dennis the CEO of McLaren Mercedes;)
Agree that Hamilton drove a superb race and deserved the win.
Wish people would stop whingeing about Alonso all the time though.
Chip
The Rig 30 September 2007, 16:22 fair play to rakionen, for a few laps showing how to race, the last few laps, spot on, if only the whole race was like that between 10 or drivers it would a thriller each week !
exvaux 30 September 2007, 17:40 wouldnt want to be in vettel's shoes,of all the folk to hit, plus he's earned a 10 place drop for next gp :lol1:

I noticed that the cock described their cheating as "pushing the rule book to the limit":wonder:

RRH 30 September 2007, 21:32 The collision has potentially cost Red Bull / STR $19m in lost prize money alone...
Funkii Munkii 01 October 2007, 06:55 Did anyone read Hamiltons comments in the papers over the weekend, I do like his forthright style and he doesn't hold back, he's certainly got some balls, and you need them in F1, short of it was Alonso is a sneak, Mclaren would do well to get rid of Alonso, "I'm sure the team will make the right decision" "I'd rather he was in a Ferrari" this is one very single minded individual, ala Senna/ Schumacher.
A great drive yesterday in the wet, composed, the sign of a Champion :)

Do they get prize money ? I was always led to believe neither the constructor nor the driver recieved any money for winning the races or the title, you get the trophies and the accolades, I was told this is the late 70's so things may have changed, although after a chat at work we believe it still to be the case and the Moto GP isn run similarly, the FIA must have a healthy bank account !
RRH 01 October 2007, 09:37 1st – USD80,000,000 (2006 – USD35,000,000)
2nd – USD74,000,000 (2006 – USD33,000,000)
3rd – USD67,000,000 (2006 – USD30,000,000)
4th – USD60,000,000 (2006 – USD26,000,000)
5th – USD48,000,000 (2006 – USD22,000,000)
6th – USD46,000,000 (2006 – USD20,000,000)

If Red Bull had come 2nd and 3rd yesterday they'd have been 4th (rather than 5th) in the contsructors, similarly STR lost points as well....
Funkii Munkii 01 October 2007, 10:45 Cheers
You learn something everyday :)
No wonder Webber swore when being interviewed lol

So glad you noticed that! It was either a typo or I had a cold when I made the post.
Les :)
RRH 01 October 2007, 15:58 For the championship, flightman.
What will have really upset Mark is he's on a performance related package, and losing the the drivers points will hurt him considerably. Not quite sure how much but will see if I can find out... ;)
