Just recently I have noticed the alarm when it is dis-armed only recognises the drivers door being opened.
This is very annoying specially if your loading shopping or fitting a child in the back.

might be faulty door sensors. check that your cars interior light is working with all the doors

I think so as I can't remember having to open the drivers door before I loaded the shopping before.

I had the alarm installed about 18 months ago so I think I'll have to ring the installer, I just hope he's still in business.

I had this alarm on my last scoob and it only recognised the drivers door. It was like this from installation.

and it only has one wire to connect to drivers door ( bit daft, but i have interior sensors to compensate) However can you just add some wire to extend the alarm wire in the drivers door switch to the others ?

would it not be easier to connect the one wire from the alarm to the one wire that switches the interior light on when ANY of the doors are opened?

If your thatcham approved alarm is not connected to ALL the cars doors then by rights it is not thatcham approved. The approval relies on the installation being carried out a/ by a person trained to do so and b/ to a certain standard.

Worse case scenario....

Your car gets stolen and then recovered. When the insurance company come out and check the operation of the alarm system (it does happen) and find out that it's not connected to all the doors they can then refuse any claim because the alarm doesn't meet criteria required for a Cat 1 system.

Looking at the wiring guide I have then this is what the installer should have done as the manual tells you to use the interior light circuit.

Actually as I look at the circuit diagram the wire connects to both a door switch and the interior light trigger.
Electronics isn't my thing but if I had to guess I would say the problem is somewhere between the door switch and the interior light trigger connection.

it's not a "problem" with the car. It's simply that the installer has connected into the wrong wire. The wire he has connected to is the one that is used for the "lights left on" warning system.
