View Full Version : BEST UPGRADE FOR MY 02 WRX L33_WRX 17 September 2007, 22:16 Want to improve the handling on my 02 WRX - what's the best best place to start? Car is completely standard handling wise apart from upper front and rear struts Cheers DavidJohn 17 September 2007, 22:22 Ive also got a 52 WRX,completly standard, and I would also be interested in much the same info.In fact, do upper strut braces add that much on their own, or is it better to add even more bracing.Ive seen lower front braces but havent been sure if they are worth the trouble to fit. L33_WRX 17 September 2007, 22:32 The struts def help. I understand whiteline front & rear ARB's will sort mine out a bit more but not sure if I also should fit better drop links and anti lift kit at the same time richiewong 17 September 2007, 23:39 Eibach springs, rear ARB, f+r drop links and a geometry set up. Midlife...... 17 September 2007, 23:45 L33 Like you I've a Bugeye WRX :D It's a daft place to start but the best track ride I have had was in a Skoda Octavia driven by Steve Sherwen.... posts by the name of steve sherwen on SN :) Prior to that he had a bugeye WRX with Eibach springs and Godspeed brakes and maybe something else :D Way ahead of me on the driving front on scooby days out :) He still posts on here or maybe try a PM :D Shaun WRX_Rich 18 September 2007, 16:42 Eibach springs, rear ARB, f+r drop links and a geometry set up. that is a really good combo for little money ( considering the cost of coilovers) you would really notice the difference if you start adding big brakes, 350 + bhp you really need to start thinking about coilovers but untill then the above will make you very happy , did with me :) dunx 20 September 2007, 20:35 Hi ! Slightly different car, '02 bug-eye sti, but just fit a Whiteline rear ARB, with some drop-links and make sure it's an adjustable one.... much nicer handling as the rear sits flatter, making the front seem more accurate when changing direction. ALK alters the front to help steering response. Changing the geometry can also loosen the rear for more fun.... Dunx Mega track use might benefit from huge underbraces, but maybe not for road use.... cookstar 20 September 2007, 20:38 I have an 02 WRX, I fitted Eibach springs, and have rear solid drop links as the only suspension mods, made a huge difference to the handling. Many more mods planned soon, including front drop links and front and rear ARB's Followed by a geo set up Should be fun then :) jobbie 21 September 2007, 13:24 01 WRX bugeye wagon with 22mm Whiteline adjustable rear ARB transforms handling, makes the front very pointy when on stiffest setting so start with the middle as this seems to suit most people best. Just watch out as it can be a bit twitchy in the damp. Steering is very light also which i would like to sort out. Coilovers are a must now me thinks Midlife...... 23 September 2007, 23:04 Cookie I sent you my eibach's and shocks free (and I paid postage in the end) 'cos you said you had no money and you were were trying to mod your bugeye on a budget ..
