Default Leather worn on steering wheel

How can I repair worn leather sections on the steering wheel. I know I cannot restore the leather as it was when new but I would like to have the worn sections blackened, what products should I use to do this?

Best option for a quick fix is to buy a can of black spray paint (either satin/ matt).

Blank off behind with news paper. Open your doors and simply dust the worn areas.

I have done this to many an older car before. When it dries, it is surprisingly hard wearing and the paint does not come off either.

hmmn, that would involve a serious amount of masking, are there any other alternatives before I try that method?

Shoe leather dye, as sold by Timpsons etc, works well, but the wheel needs SEVERE cleaning first.........the shop MAY sell something suitable. Shoe dye just paints on, sometimes with a sponge, but put paper over seats etc in case of spills
