Marcus has quoted at the start of the season he would retire if he won this years WRC. Unless the Focus has a reliabilty issue Icannot see him not winning, and retiring at the top:notworthy :notworthy :notworthy

To whom that may replace him, as Ford's no 1, I don't think Hirvonen as done himself any harm this season, with possibly mr wilson's son coming in at no2.

The thing that may stop Marcus winning the title, is the unsporting manner in which Citroen behave.

There was an agreement between the teams at the beginning of the season, NOT to bring in team orders, to make the title a straight fight.

This was 100% maintained by Ford in Germany by not getting Mikko to check in late tho give Marcus the extra point.

What do Citroen do, they pay for Duval to drive a Xsara for Kronos. Firstly in Germany, now in Spain & Corsica, probably if needed in Ireland as well. He didn't have the money/backing to compete this year with First Motorsport in the Skoda. So if he had found some backing he would of been in the Skoda still or a manufacturer has stepped in.

Also Loeb should have 10 points less & Marcus 2 more, because he did not follow the correct road section route at the Monte this year. This is an automatic disqualification.

This leads me to the dodgy dealings that they had employed for pace notes.
The rule is to recky at road speed (hence GPS in recky cars). Loeb did this and the passed notes to a member of the team to drive at speed & check. They were caught in Finland last year, but were not penalised as it was a grey area of the rules. This has now been dealt with. The proof of this, is the amount of new stages this year & how Loeb is much slower on his first run.

If these dealings give Loeb the championship, it will in my eyes be an empty win. The records do not show anything other than the points scored, but the whole Ford team will always have the moral victory.
