I've just had mine back from Nikon where it was having a minor repair. When I plug it into my laptop it is asking to for a cd/software to install.

I don't remember installing anything when I first bought the camera. Did I???

Any advice?

Check the menu. There should be a set up menu (D200 has a spanner icon)

Scroll down to the USB option. This should be set at M or mass storage device and not PTP which expects something like Nikon capture installed.
