After a pocket camera to use on day outs when the 350D is to much to carry around.

Had an Ixus400 before so drawn towards the Ixus range again. Any comments for or against? Any alternatives in the price range (up to £180).

Any better sources out there to save a few quid?

I bought a new 850IS for my wife off ebay, its got a good feel and it takes decent pictures. THere is a newer 900 version I think too

We bought an Ixus 70 for exactly the reason you mentioned. The camera is only slightly larger than a mobile phone, takes great pics and with a £10 2gig card has 1011 picture taking capability. The battery appears to last really well.

I was also looking at the Samsung NV10 but got the 70 in the end.
