Well I bought an IXUS65 several months ago and yes its great for snaps

but I got fed up ................like you do

So on my way home from work this evening I called into Argo's to buy something a bit better [yes I know I can buy this stuff cheaper elsewhere]

I ended up buying the Canon EOS400D with Battery Grip and additional lense EF55-200mm + a 1GB Flash Card

YES I KNOW THE CAMERA IS PROBALY MORE INTELIGENT THAN ME

Book called Understanding Photography by Brian somebody.

Just experiment with different settings, understanding how to use Av and Tv modes rather than the automatic modes.

Is that the one you mean Pumpkin, it does come highly recommended by a lot of people

Someone suggested a book called 'Understanding Exposure' but I cant remember the authors name.
