Afternoon all,
Toronto Airshow is this weekend and I'm thinking of getting a few pictures, but want advice on what settings would be good to use to capture things. I could use auto mode, but manual will possibly give better results.

Camera is a Minolta Dimage S304.

Any advice greatly appreciated (the Canadian Snowbirds are having a practice at the moment so I can possibly try a few test shots)

only done one airshow. If prop planes a shutter of around 1/200 should blur the prop. If jets, less important...

....and a bloody long lens. Biggest thing you can lay your hands on, with a TC!

Well I'm going to be screwed then, all I've got is the ickle minolta. I'll try and snap a few things with it, but doubt they'll be too good. Only thankful thing is that we should be pretty damn close to the action.

Perhaps I might not be too screwed after all. I had a quick read of a few threads on here and did a little research and just purchased a Panny DMC-FZ8, which seems to be one hell of a lot better than the poor old Minolta. I've hopefully got two attempts at the airshow, tomorrow and monday, so I'll post up my, hopefully not too pathetic, attempts at taking pictures.

Thanks to all for the advice on this thread, and of course the other threads I browsed.
