Spent last Saturday at the Gaunlet Birds of Prey Centre (http://www.gauntlet.info/). Excellent day out (I had a voucher for Christmas) - loads of time spent with the birds - handling, flying, feeding etc. Went for a short walk with a pair of Harris Hawks - wonderfull birds.

All of these are from my Ixus 400.

One of the Harris Hawks whilst out walking / flying. It's very hard to get good pictures when you've got a gaunlet / bird on your left hand and a camera in your right :D

Barry the Buzard (no, that IS his name!):

Slightly annoyed to chop his wing off but this was another one handed pic.

Might be a few more to come once my films (remember that stuff?) come back

Some nice pictures Chris but do you have Photoshop ?

With a very quick and simple Levels adjustment the pics could be so much better...

I've got Paint Shop Pro - what would you suggest tweaking? I've never really post-processed any pictures.

Sorry Chris, I have never used Paint Shop Pro so I have no idea.

Am sure plenty in this forum have though so would imagine an answer will come along shortly.

No problem - will have a tinker but if anyone has any tips please shout.

It was quite overcast and dull during the day which made getting photo's tricky.

Is it me or does http://images.cxi.org.uk/gaunlet/5.jpg have a really sad look in his (?) eyes?

Great pictures, but this is the first time I've seen a bird seeming to have an expression...
