Can't wait :luxhello:

I've got my usual 50L and I bought a 24L and tripod for the occasion :D

I'm actually wishing i also had a 70-200 2.8L. As much as i prefer primes, i really miss that lens on my nikon.

And more importantly, I'm soo not expecting to come back with any of my kit with all the stories i've heard about express kidnappings and theft :freak3:

I think I will just squirrel away the full CF cards about my luggage lol

I wouldn't worry to much about the stories i spent three weeks touring around Peru some off the main tourist trail finishing at the second biggest festival in south America with thousands of drunk locals causing the streets to run with p**s and never had any problems. Enjoy yourself and have a good trip.

I've been and done it too, spent 4 days doing the Inca trail then flew up to Iquitos in northern Peru for a jungle trip the following week, if you get time go there too - proper primary jungle trips are cheap to be had and only a couple of hours downriver from Iquitos.
Awesome place , locals in the main friendly beyond belief. Cusco is a bit of a tourist fest but the Inca trail is amazing. If you're walking there it's a slog uphill for most of the time but the views are worth it. If you're getting the train - you are sensible!
Been to Lima three times now, like any big city it has its good and bad parts but never had any trouble there even late at night staggering out of bars. Always pays to be aware of your surroundings though and don't wear/carry anything flash.
Enjoy and breathe deep that lovely air!

Cheers chaps, the positive reviews are very welcome.

We're going with Orient Express tours and the holiday was £8K, so I'm expecting a piggy back from a local round the trail :D

We had a semi pro photographer on our trip with about 10k worth of gear, he put lumps of black gaffer tape around his kit to make it look old and battered.
