i found this engine on ebay full race rebuild for £3195 seems quite resonable here is the auction. what do u think worth a go?
In addition to the standard rebuild i am now offering the race builds due to the serious amount of demand on these engines being race prepared - below is the standard build advert - the race build engines are basically the same complete rebuild but in addition the race build will have the following new parts added:
new generation cross drilled crankshaft - brand new nitrided cranks - genuine
full race shell bearing set - acl's
"H" beam steel conrods - generally eagle
Forged piston set - generally wiseco or je
blocks will be machined to accept the rear thrust crank and cylinders honed out to perfectly suit the pistons and clearance will be determined upon intended use - ie road or track.
new uprated oil pump
this set up is a serious improvement upon standard, the cross drilled crankshafts combat the oil starvation at the big end journal but simply doubling the flow through the crankshaft and thus reducing the enormous effect of starvation centrifugal forces impend upon the standard crankshafts at higher revs, this combined with the uprated oil pump is simply the best chance any subaru engine has to survive premature bottom end failure and especially in "tweeked" cars where the remap combined with injector/boost increases and improvements in breathing certainly take the standard ej20 to its limit of capabilities.
the forged pistons and steel rods are a great improvement in terms of strength and balance over standard rods and pistons, and machining to aircraft standards both on the components and the blocks gives the most precise of set ups.
if you have seriously increased the power output of your scooby then a race build will have to be a definate consideration otherwise you would very quickly kill a standard built engine - give me a call and discuss your requirements as there are still a lot of other options available to these engines - this set up is simply the most requested as it is relatively cost effective in terms of not having to go through rebuild after rebuild due to blowing the standard lump.
