The season kicks off for me tomorrow - should be an interesting one, considering I've not played for AGES due to injury/laziness. :lol1:

I quit Sunday football for a few reasons. I enjoyed my Sat nights out too much and it was harder and harder to get up and play, I didn't enjoy being hacked to bits by other people who were still drunk :D, The aches and pains from playing Sat and Sunday were too much. I just play on a Sat now at a better level than Sunday. Means I can just about still walk on a monday!

Not so good news.

Pulled up (well, by pulled up, I mean rolled around in agony) towards the end of the game with what I think is a torn calf, the same injury I suffered 3-4 years ago.

I'm supposed to be going to Ghana in two weeks to coach football out there for five weeks - if I can go at all, it'll be on crutches.

Why?

If you are talking about the "penalty" I dont think he dived, just got out of the way, and no one appealed

It's the same old story; surround the referee all game to put pressure on him.

Terry's 'coming together' with Torres - tell me how that differed to what Ronaldo did on Wednesday.

If it works though then do it until told otherwise or the punishment for doing so is greater than he benefit.

Again true but then it's the ref who has made the mistake in one of the games depending how it's viewed.

Good news on the injury front.

Just come back from the physio, and although I'm out for at least 6-8 weeks with the tear, I'm back walking (very slowly) and will be heading to Ghana next Saturday as planned.

Cheers Gramps.

I felt a little left out with the old photo taking, so here's what 70 minutes of Sunday League football did to me...
