View Full Version : hi bonzee 16 August 2007, 07:24 hi guys first post on the wales section so big shout to the welsh lot need a bit of help, scoob needs 40000 service is it best to take to cvc or specialist also what is involved (my car 03 sti) wrx,sti 16 August 2007, 07:40 I take mine to cvc but there are cheaper options out there,I think its the timing belt one. bonzee 16 August 2007, 07:46 hi mate some one was telling me that thay are a bit funny when car is modded Blue Dragoon 16 August 2007, 08:31 30k and 60k are the cambelts. But it is also done on time if the mileage is not reached. I think it's 5 years or 60K. Hope this helps. wrx,sti 16 August 2007, 08:35 last December i had a 3 year/30000 service and they told me the next one will be the cam belt one  Ian, had the car yet!! MikeCardiff 16 August 2007, 09:37 If it does need the belts doing, then ask CVC for a quote - when mine needed doing it worked out cheaper to get them to do it than any of the other local garages I tried - half of them said 'we dont work on cars like that' and the others were on about dropping the engine out to do it and quoting stupid labour charges. While some dont like CVC, their mechanics do belt changes all the time, so even though their labour charges may be higher, they can do them a lot quicker so arent always more expensive. Plus, you get the service stamp in the log book from a Subaru dealer, which will look a lot better when you come to sell it. bonzee 16 August 2007, 13:24 cheers guy off to cvc for service and get belt changed thanks for the replys DannyBoy007 16 August 2007, 16:33 See if they offer a discount, we all went to an open day last year and now receive 10% with a VIP card. Russ71 16 August 2007, 17:10 Can you pass on VIP cards on? cause I dont need mine now, due to lack of scoob, so if anybody wants it, give us a PM. bonzee 16 August 2007, 18:05 cheers guys been quoted £380 for service not sure if that was belt included any way 40000 service told me all oils, the next one at 50000 was belt change do you think good price thanks drive 20 August 2007, 00:57 try dave coe in gorseinon m8 David Coe Auto Engineering Centre. 4x4 / Performance Car Specialists (http://www.davecoeautoengineering.com/) Russ71 20 August 2007, 10:32 Bonzee, I have to say thats a nice car mate :notworthy It made me want to return to scoob ownership, sounded very nice indeed, even had the wife twitching to start trawling the car sales.
