Looking to change my zx12r for a slightly less powerfull but more practicle and nimble bike. So far narrowed my list down to five bikes I like: 2001-2004 gsxr1000 2004 zx10r 2003+ z1000 2003-2004 zx636r 2002ish gsxr750

Having rode a new shape zx10 I was amazed at the smooth power and loved how easy it was to control a nice long wheelie in 1st 2nd and part way through third gear. Also test drove a new zx6r and didn't really like it. However I've been told the 636 had alot more midrange grunt and was way more road focused. I like the look of the Z1000 but have never rode an upright and am not sure what to expect. Controlable wheelies maybe?! I'm also really interested in a gsxr1000 due to power for money ratio.

Has anyone any thoughts/comparisons or owned any of these bikes? As you may of noticed I'm looking for a bike that likes to spend a bit of time on the back wheel! :)

I've benn leaning towards the gsxr anyway. Is there much difference between any of the k1 k2 k3 k4 variations? If so do you no what they are? I had a straight line blast with a k5 on my zx12 and that was awsome. Nice looking bike by the way;)

If you can get a K5, do so, it makes the earlier models seem a bit slug like!:thumb:

yea my gixxer thou was good for wheelies , but i prefer the r1 for stunting about on , with awsome brakes for rolling stoppies and plenty of power for rolling burnouts and through the box wheelies . any litre bike will wheelie tbh and i always change my gearing to suit me , so any bike will do !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yeeeeharrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

My TL1000s is virtually impossible to keep the front wheel on the road, will lift the front wheel in 1st, 2nd, 3rd just on the throttle, and 4th if you have a pillion :)
