the previous owner of my new scooby had tints in the windows that've since been removed, leaving a residue of sticky stuff all over the back windows

i have used household 'sticky stuff remover' but it just isnt getting the job done at all

any ideas?

Autoglym bug and tar remover is pretty good but you may need good old fashioned elbow grease

I did this a few months back and took me a few good hours before I was happy with the results :cry: A flat stanley knife blade and WD40 did the trick for me :thumb:

You need some proper glue remover, and even then it's a PITA of a job. Buy an extra big tub of elbow grease.

Soak the windows with the glue remover and leave a good while for it to do it's thing, repeat a few times then go at it with a razor blade scraper.

I used the stanley knife and wd40 on the side windows but didn't on the back because of the heating elements. I found that nail varnish remover worked really well, the cheaper the better as its normally stronger, my mate and i did the whole rear window in about 15-20 mins on a hot day.

white spirit or turps will also do it. but personnally i'd use the bug and tar remover.

There's stuff that comes in a can called 'Sprad' and I swear it cuts through anything sticky. Hard to find but works brilliantly, you spray it on, it doesn't run too much. It just sits there and eats through any sticky residue, then you just wipe it off with a kitchen towel.

We use at work 'Tar and Glue' remover made my 'Conncept. pretty good stuff what basicially is white spirit of sorts.
