View Full Version : Diamondbrite Good or Bad
whitepilgrim 07 August 2007, 19:34 Has any one had any experience of these guys been handed a promotional cd by my local Scooby dealer who gives them the thumb up. Basically says Guaranteed 6 years of crystal clear protection for your car......In other words dont need to wax for 6 years.......Good or Bad :wonder:
JEWELULTRA (http://www.jewelultra.com)
Norman Dog 07 August 2007, 19:52 Had it on my old Vectra and you couldn't tell any difference to be honest :)
Microstar 08 August 2007, 00:29 I put this stuff on my cars and its good. No way does it last 6 years, but it does last longer than Autoglym IMHO and gives some extra protection against bird droppings. Its dead easy to put on (easier than normal wax). I buy it off Ebay. Got enough for two cars at a cost of about £8. I think the dealers want £199 per car - or something crazy!!
assti 08 August 2007, 05:21 Great stuff, don,t know about 6 years though.

cos500 08 August 2007, 08:12 I had it on my Focus RS when i bought it new, cost £250 back then, wish id not bothered, couldnt tell the difference and to be honest i get a better finish when i polish it myself, i think its just to give lazy people piece of mind that when they buy a new car from the dealers they will never have to wash or polish it.
Rasher 08 August 2007, 08:16 saw how they applied it on my dad's Jag, its ok but you cant beat your car being washed clayed polished, LSP'd and waxed properly IMHO:)
As has been said no way does it last 6 years
whitepilgrim 08 August 2007, 12:47 There still asking £250 per car seems a tadg expensive from the replys, thanks lads and lasses:thumb: think I will give this a miss and keep the ritual of the weekly rub up...................the Scoob of course lol
Mark Champion 08 August 2007, 12:59 Dealers get a big kick back on selling Diamondbrite and Scotchguard which is why they push it. Not really worth it.
simonbb1328 08 August 2007, 16:35 Got it on mine when I bought it.... BIG waste of money
wrxcraig 08 August 2007, 21:27 used diamondbrite quite a few times and never had a bad result and makes the paintwork feel alot smoother.
Tim Bomford 09 August 2007, 15:27 Lasts 6 yrs if you apply every month apparently so to me that means it lasts a month! A decent car wax or sealent will beat that time hands down.
Save your money
muddy 09 August 2007, 15:35 Personnaly I wouldn't bother.
I believe tests have proven that it doesn't last as long as they claim.
Also if the car hasn't been prepared properly beforehand, then the end result will be poor.
I'd recommend using a quality sealant and carnauba wax, these will give a better shine and much better protection. And if the car has been prepared properly beforehand i.e been detailed. Then future applications of wax (Every month) will be a breeze.

Hitcher 09 August 2007, 18:47 You can get it on flea bay for about £10 then put it on yourself ;)
D-an-W 12 August 2007, 14:23 At my previous employer they charged IRO of £250 but the stuff cost them £23 if I remember right...
SC008Y_MAD 13 August 2007, 20:21 I work at Volvo in Bedford and we use Supagurad stuff and the pad with the polish/wax in is actually quite good.
Polished Bliss 14 August 2007, 13:26 Personnaly I wouldn't bother.
