Been off the bike for a while because the alarm packed up (couldn't disarm it). Thought I was going to have to bite the bullet and pay to get it repaired.
Turned out to be the batteries in both remotes had simulataneously gone flat (although the LED was lighting up on the remote). Total cost of repair: £3.

TBH, I didn't think it was the battery because when it packed up I'd been out on it all day without any problems. I pulled up on the drive, turned the bike off, opened the garage door and that was it: one broken alarm.

I hate bike alarms, dont have one, and my insurance went up by £30...
What a waste of time.
If you must leave your bike unattended in a high risk area a good chin onto a big lighing column.

Totally agree, only have one on mine as it came with one but wouldn't add one to a bike now as they are more hassle than they are worth. If someone is going to nick your bike an alarm wont stop them and nor will pretty much anything else other than a gun. My R1 was lifted into a transit in the middle of the day in the middle of London with its alarm blairing out and they couldn't have given a toss as no one wanted to stop them.

.. hey, just 'cos you guys are 'ard and can go 'chinning' street furniture ... :D

PS: have an alarm and it does work but absolutely convinced that it won't stop it getting stolen. Just there for the insurance.

Had a datatool on my blade which nicely flattened my battery over the winter and was a pain to sort out. Found out it was then too old to give any insurance discount so had it removed in less than 10 mins by a callout guy:)
life is sweet now knowing its not going to screw up on you in the middle of nowhere:D
My Meta on my 6r was good though...
