wozzaa 04 August 2007, 14:06 Bl$%by fuming what he done in qually today:mad: pippyrips 04 August 2007, 14:14 totally agree - fair play to Hamilton for not smashing the drink jug over his head in the press conference. pnbond007 04 August 2007, 14:17 what an absolute disgrace......from a very worried Alonso let's hope big Ron get's rid of him now.....he simply does not deserve his seat at Mclaren keep snapping at his heels Lewis......your the better guy..... utter disgrace nothing less Andy S. 04 August 2007, 14:23 I think there may be a sacking ahead!! disgraceful and he had the gaul to say the team held me up!! they did but then he sat there for another 10 seconds giving lewis no chance!! Hepy 04 August 2007, 14:33 Would the reaction be different if it was done to anybody other than Hamilton? I thought it was quite funny tbh. scoobygav555 04 August 2007, 14:36 Doesnt matter who it's to. It's still a form of cheating:mad: rsarjantson 04 August 2007, 14:38 Did seem an odd manover, Wonder if he has been reading the Schumacer (SP ??)How to win at all costs book ! pnbond007 04 August 2007, 14:47 he'll be history soon.....Ron's a harsh man....Alonso is finished...to many recent signs of cracks have appeared Hoppy 04 August 2007, 14:54 Alonso will pay for that, now with accusations of cheating outside the team, and now blatantly from within. Ron will not have McLaren tarnished like that. Richard. PS Who'd like to see Alonso sacked and Button in a decent car for once? Me :D PPS And start Alonso from pitlane tomorrow. Backwards :lol1: pippyrips 04 August 2007, 15:04 Would the reaction be different if it was done to anybody other than Hamilton? I thought it was quite funny tbh. Nope CupraDave 04 August 2007, 15:06 PS Who'd like to see Alonso sacked and Button in a decent car for once? Me :D would be nice to see Lewis and Jenson in a Brit team together but it aint never gonna happen, not after all the money Honda forked out to have JB released from his Williams contract a few years ago. Scoobychick 04 August 2007, 15:06 PS Who'd like to see Alonso sacked and Button in a decent car for once? Me :D I liked Alonso up until today  So yes, me, in answer to your question above :thumb: Hepy 04 August 2007, 15:06 PS Who'd like to see Alonso sacked and Button in a decent car for once? Me :D :lol1: Get Kubica in that Maclaren, see how Hamilton deals with him. Hoppy 04 August 2007, 15:38 would be nice to see Lewis and Jenson in a Brit team together but it aint never gonna happen, not after all the money Honda forked out to have JB released from his Williams contract a few years ago. Yes, but what's Button doing at Honda right now? Costing them a fortune and gaining the team very little. Just lend him to McLaren for a few mill. Kubica is doing very well where he is, even though he'd be good against Hamilton. Lewis rates him as the best kart drriver he ever raced agaist, but if memory serves, Hamilton beat him five times out of six in the European Junior Kart Championships. Richard. GaryCat 04 August 2007, 16:25 It was very stupid of Alonso, when McLaren is already in front of the FIA for bringing the sport into disrepute with the spying affair. He should get the same penalty as Schumi did at Monaco, start from the back of the grid. n one 04 August 2007, 17:42 Something`s got to happen in F1 to make it interesting, and when it does happen your all upset. I`m sure if Alonsos team mate, was for instance Sato/Speed/whoever, instead of Hamilton you wouldn`t be too bothered what tricks he pulled :wonder: ;) :) And if he`d done the same to Schumacher, then great :D wozzaa 04 August 2007, 17:50 Something`s got to happen in F1 to make it interesting, and when it does happen your all upset. I`m sure if Alonsos team mate, was for instance Sato/Speed/whoever, instead of Hamilton you wouldn`t be too bothered what tricks he pulled :wonder: ;) :) And if he`d done the same to Schumacher, then great :D Good point BUT Alonso is two times world champ & this is Hamilton's first season:nono: & I don't think even Schumacher would do this to his own team mate? I'm sure Lewis will kick Alonso's ass tomorrow any way:D Practos 04 August 2007, 19:17 autosport.com - F1 News: Dennis: Hamilton triggered incident (http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/61368) Distinguished Gentleman 04 August 2007, 19:45 autosport.com - F1 News: Dennis: Hamilton triggered incident (http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/61368) That dosen't seem to tie in with the way Ron Dennis threw his head set onto the desk at the pit wall in an obvious rage. It was caught on camera in the final seconds of the ITV coverage. DG corradoboy 04 August 2007, 19:53 Dennis is now protecting McLarens 1-2 position at the circuit which is amongst the hardest to overtake. He was quite clearly annoyed when he threw his headset and stormed after FA's trainer, then ragging off his headset to berate him before frogmarching him down the pitlane. We all know what happened, but RD is thinking about the team and the season now he has calmed down a little. Let's hope LH stuffs it to FA tomorrow. Petem95 04 August 2007, 21:08 Does sound like Hamilton triggered it all - if so he's probably had a right rollocking from Ron Dennis this afternoon. Seems Hamilton and Alonso both think they should have number 1 status in that team and have a hissy fit if they get told to do something which they feel puts them at a disadvantage. Alonso told reporters after qualifying that Hamilton had not respected orders from the team to allow the Spaniard through earlier in the session in order to allow him to have an extra flying lap. "They told Hamilton what to do and he didn't listen," Alonso was quoted as saying by EFE news agency. "That was the only problem the team had. Ron's anger was because he (Hamilton) didn't accept an order that the team repeated several times over the first lap. "Therefore, the team did all they had to do, and tried to give me that extra lap, but for those reasons it wasn't possible. "I've been asked about Ron throwing his headphones, about how he went after Fabrizio (Alonso's physio), or whatever. I have nothing against him. I was going to have an extra lap of fuel, and I didn't have it, but in the end I got pole." wozzaa 04 August 2007, 23:17 Just been announced Alonso has been put back to 6th on the grid:D corradoboy 04 August 2007, 23:32 Just been announced Alonso has been put back to 5th on the grid:D 6th according to ITV/F1 :lol1: Can't wait to see his face tomorrow :D Andy S. 04 August 2007, 23:36 Just been announced Alonso has been put back to 5th on the grid:D lol:lol1: corradoboy 04 August 2007, 23:38 RD will be furious, apparently Mac can't score any constructors points either  wozzaa 04 August 2007, 23:40 :p :D all changed corradoboy 04 August 2007, 23:41 You can't change my quote :p kingofturds 05 August 2007, 10:38 Alonso demoted to sixth have some of that :D BBC SPORT | Motorsport | Formula One | Alonso punished for Hamilton move (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/6929333.stm) bugeyeandy 05 August 2007, 10:51 Alonso pulled off a great move, bet Hamilton wasn't expecting to get outsmarted that easily. I don't know where in the rules it says you can't sit idling outside your garage for as long as you want, seems it's Hamilton that is turning into the new Schumacher not Alonso. Always coming up smelling of roses depsite some dubious tactics of his own. He's been hyped so much that it seems nothing is to get in the way of him getting the championship in his first season. Hoppy 05 August 2007, 17:10 ...I don't know where in the rules it says you can't sit idling outside your garage for as long as you want... In the Stewards report it says "The actions of the team in the final minutes of Qualifying are considered prejudicial to the interests of the competition and to the interests of motor sport generally." And it is not Alonso's garage, it's McLaren's garage. What happened is this: a) Hamilton made a minor error in disregarding an instruction. He has apologised for it. This shouldn't have been a problem, but it cascaded into confusion in the garage and futher contradictory instructions to Hamilton, which he obeyed. b) Alsono saw an opportunity to grab pole by blocking Hamilton in the garage box. As Damon Hill said, there was not reason why he couldn't have moved forward, or trickled along pit lane to lose time, if that was necesary. But he deliberately stayed put to prevent Hamilton a final flying lap and last attempt at pole. c) Alonso lied to the press and to the Stewards about his actions and motives. d) In a monologue of drivelling Ron-speak, Dennis was economical with the truth. He stated some 'facts' but did not eloborate on the drivers' interpretation of the circumstances, or explain them to a baffled public and Stewards. Ron tried to white-wash the whole thing and deal with it internally. Foolishly as it turned out, given that it was obvious to a global audience of billions what actually happened. Ron has cast a darker shadow over both his and McLaren's team ethics. e) The Stewards saw through all this smoke and mirrors rubbish and hit Alonso and McLaren with stern penalties. It would be rash of McLaren to appeal, in the face of potentially harsher penalties being imposed and the on-going Ferrari spy scandal. Anyway, who gives a sh!t. Hamilton won and increased his championship lead. He's happy. So am I :D Richard. |
