if so, is there really as much spin difference as i'm reading? sounds like the spin milled wedge damn near rips the cover off a ProV:D
just wondering if it is worth the £80odd to change from my current 56* old vokey (which does the job fine to be honest)
any advice?
ta:)

A mate of mine plays off 6, and he's spinning his wedges like a top! So yes, I'd say there is a large difference.
He's going through 3/4 ProV's a round tho!

The spin milled are ok but to be honest i've had mine for about a year now and it's no different to a normal Vokey. I'm even tempted to go back to my rusty 58 degree as i much prefer the look of it behind the ball. First few weeks with the spin milled i was going through dozens of balls (proV's) and spinning it out the rough:eek: Titleist didnt produce a 48 degree PW because the prototypes spun too much!!!!!

Only spins out the rough at first until the sharp edges of the grooves wear off.
Personally i dont think you'll see any benefit. Not many of the european tour pro's are using them either:)

Can't beat a trusty rusty Cleveland 588 rtg for my money! I love those wedges, and they're quite cheap these days.
I'm not a very good golfer mind you :D

You'll find them in a lot of pro bags, although less than used to be the case.
Cleveland are known for their wedges. They've invested a lot in getting their irons into US tour pro bags, but it's still the wedges that made their name.
ETA - I see Vokeys are the US PGA favourite at the moment.
I use cleveland irons (TA5) as well and love them, but they seem to be favoured by "improvers" rather than yer actual low handicap player :D

Cleveland do make some beauties, had loads of them in my time but i love my Hogan 52 degree wedge. Such a classic shape (quite rounded top edge) and sits beautifully behind the ball. You can play loads of different types of shots with them too. I would highly recommend one but it's an old model so finding one maybe tough!!!!
