Hi All, as above really, been riding for a month now and still like a kiddie in a sweetie shop :D but the bikes needing a set of tyres now and i was hoping someone can advise on what to put on, the oe could be great but i wouldn`t know as i have nothing to compare them to, if you get what i mean :wonder: , anyway the bike is a 2005 zx6r ninja which has bridgestone battlax bt14`s on, should i just go like for like or is there a better tyre for it ?? its basiclly only for dry road use, i am a big fairy that uses the car when it rains :D :D.
p.s any recommendations for tyre fitters for the bike in the south side of glasgow area, never had to get it done before so don`t know where to go...
thanks very much in advance :thumb: :thumb:

I had Bridgestones on my Ninja for ages, excellent tyre but a set or so ago they were out of the right size and i had a puncture so ended up with a Metzler, didn't like it and when i swapped again i thought i'd try a different brand.
Pirelli Diablo on there at the moment, very soft but if you ride it properly and you are out in the dry you'll love the grip. I've actually gone past chicken strips and got the side of the tyre on the deck!

If you like the Bridgestones, I would suggest you go for BT021s. They'll last longer and I would be amazed if you'll notice the difference in grip on the road or even the track.
There is an awful lot of bull spoken about tyres - the truth is that all but the most talented of riders really need sport touring tyres. Sports compounds, track day tyres etc.. are there purely to boost the ego of the rider and as an aid to bike meet bravado.
You are more likely to notice a difference in the profile of a tyre and this will affect how the bike tips into a corner - just find one you like and stick to it.
PS: I've been as guilty as anyone else of all of the above so do whatever you want! ;) :)..........but I think that what I've said is basically true.

Nowt wrong with 014's except tyre life (in my experience), Pirelli diablos are great all rounder and last longer (again imho) Michelin Pilot powers are very popular.
Personally i don't think the 014's last longer enough for the money...safe bet...diablos

Had it for years now. Can't think about swapping it because i can't find a bike that is as comfy (last sports 600 built with a bit of comfort in mind i think) or i'd have to go for a comfy but slower bike like a VFR. Beyond that, to get the performance in a straightline combined with comfort you are looking in Hyabusa / Blackbird territory but then it won't go round corners like the Ninja. Brilliant all round bike really.

I've just worn my Diablo corsa out and it was awesome. I bought a Pilot Power 2CT (The one nicky Hayden advertises with the brillio pad and sponge, in the moto GP advert breaks)
It's crazy grippy. If spiderman rode a bike, he'd ride these tyres!! £127 fitted i paid. You can get it a bit cheaper but it suited me when i was in a rush to get it done asap.
