Neanderthal 25 July 2007, 13:26 I thought Edwards was on borrowed time. Apart from Assen last year he's not come close to winning :(
What about Toseland ? Any news on him getting a Moto GP ride.
He signed for Yamaha, it doesn't say he's Rossi's team mate, it could possibly be as a trio like the current trend seems to be, Ninja's and Ducati are considering, or in his own team.
There is only room for one Ego in a team and Rossi has enough for 2 as it is:D
7 Foot 25 July 2007, 20:44 I've read nothing yet that states he'll be replacing Colin.
LEUVEN 25 July 2007, 22:41 Would like to see Edwards stay in MotoGP and find his form.
Probably the best ever race I have seen is when he and Hayden fought like mad at Assen last year. Superb by both riders :notworthy
SimonD 27 July 2007, 05:44 What about Toseland ? Any news on him getting a Moto GP ride.
Team mate to Edwards on Tech 3 with Michelins?
CrisPDuk 30 July 2007, 07:23 Fantastic, just what MotoGP needs, another Spaniard over endowed in the personality department:lol1:
My first though was 3 bike team too:wonder:
PS: There's no way Toseland is going to jump ship from competitive SBK squad into a MotoGP team that's just there to make up numbers:nono:
SimonD 30 July 2007, 07:54 Agreed, but as far as I can see Tech 3 are making up the numbers because of uncompetitive tyres and poor or inexperienced riders. Given some guarantees of up to date engine/chassis parts + Michelins and an experienced team mate - could be quite an attractive package.
I doubt he earned any brownie points with HRC at Suzuka either!!
Someone said to me today regarding JT that he's going to do another year with WSB due to being guarnateed a Factory GP bike for '09....... Haydens bike me thinks???

Nope, Honda's dangled carrot will not work any longer, not when they keep lengthening the string.
What about Toseland ? Any news on him getting a Moto GP ride.
Team mate to Edwards on Tech 3 with Michelins?
Will probably be confirmed at Yamaha this weekend, but maybe not the team structure. The whole VR / CE / JL / JT set up is still in the air, may not be resolved before the JT announcement ;)
Nido 01 August 2007, 14:45 Has been confirmed already, will be with the Tech 3 squad :thumb:
SimonD 01 August 2007, 16:13 Great news......as long as the Michelin deal goes with it!
I really think that JT has the mindset and ability to make a go of Motogp. Two Yamaha teams then; ex-WSB vs. GP stars?!
7 Foot 02 August 2007, 11:09 Agreed, a lot will come down to the tyres...again.
Good to see him in MotoGP but JT's just not someone I can really get behind. I think it's possibly because he strikes me as vain, or at least a pretty boy. That may sound strange coming from me, seeing as how devilishly handsome I am but that's just tough titties.

Read his autobiography 7 foot, those are the last things that'll come across.
He's come from nothing, his step father (who got him into bikes) gassed himself to death in the garage, he's really had to work for it. You'll have a different take on him afterwards :thumb:
7 Foot 02 August 2007, 20:19 Bloody hell, I didn't know that.
Cheers Nido, I'll have a read and then probably eat humble pie.

It's a damned good read:thumb:
I had a similar opinion to you before I read it
I suspect it's more biography than autobiography though, everybody knows motorbike racers can't write;)
Sbradley 03 August 2007, 10:04 OK, I had a chat with JT yesterday and the score is:
Yes, he's going to MotoGP with Tech3 (duh)
No they wo't be on Dunlops
No he doesn't know what they will be on
No he doesn't know who his team-mate will be
Yes he can see why people might think he's mental and wonders if perhaps they are right...
Officially the media have bee asked not to ask any more and because he's such a nice bloke and we're all so honourable we're sticking to it. OK, I and y team are sticking to it. MCN will do what they want, of course...
SB
PS He's a real loss to SBK, a geuinely nice bloke and works harder than anyone I know. Apart from me, of course :) He really does deserve the support he gets...
CrisPDuk 03 August 2007, 14:40 a geuinely nice bloke and works harder than anyone I know. Apart from me, of course :)
:lol1:
PMSL:D Honestly, caning other peoples motorbikes until they cry 'enough', and then writing a few lines about what a great day you had can not be classed as working Simon:rolleyes:
PS With spelling like that you really should be working for the Guardian;)
Sbradley 03 August 2007, 23:41 No Cris, I really must get a new keboard that doesn't have a sticky 'n' key...
And I should check before I post, of course. So perhaps I should go to the Guardian after all ;)

unclebuck 04 August 2007, 14:19 Lorenzo is an arrogant tit. Can't believe they would choose him over Colin...
Very disappointing news. :(
SimonD 04 August 2007, 14:24 Maybe they should have Lorenzo do the riding and Colin the interviews :)!
