Can you use an old towel instead of a micro fibre one for drying the car?

The reason for asking is that my other half is replacing our bathroom towels, and I was wondering if I could reuse them on drying the car??

if you want to inflict swirling all over your paint then go for it ;)

keep them for using as work towels when cleaning the engine up or the inside of the exhaust. also handy for wheel arches and leather interiors. personally wouldn't use them on the paintwork or the wheels though. not bad for glasss but not great.

Agreed - cotton is no good for paint as it can leave a lot of very fine marring behind, and to be honest bath towels aren't that absorbent compared to waffle weave towels.
