A while ago I did a training session at Silverstone. It was a refresher day covering cornering, braking, body positioning, throttle control etc. All sorts of people had signed up; young and old, male and female, professionals and factory workers. There was a fair spread of bikes as well - cruisers, tourers, sports tourers, and out-and-out sports bikes.
After the initial briefing I spotted a dude clad in:
- One-piece Arlen Ness leathers complete with speed hump.
- Matching colour Arai lid.
- Racing Sidi boots
- Carbon fibre/kevlar/unobtanium gloves.
So I'm thinking, "what's he going to throw his leg over?". Most likely the ZX12R on the end of the row. Failing that, the Fireblade. If not that, definitely the CB600RR.
Turns out I was wrong on all counts. His was the V-Strom complete with engine bars, sump guard and aluminium panniers.
I'm still not sure if he borrowed the bike or the gear for the day :cuckoo:
Cheers
