andrewdelvard 20 July 2007, 16:29 Top ten reasons why they dont wave back to proper bikers on the road.
10. Afraid it will invalidate warranty.
9. Leather and studs make it too heavy to raise arm.
8. Refuse to wave to anyone whose bike is already paid for.
7. Afraid to let go of handlebars because they might vibrate off.
6. Rushing wind would blow scabs off the new tattoos.
5. Angry because just took out second mortgage to pay luxury tax on new Harley.
4. Just discovered the fine print in owner's manual and realized H-D is partially owned by Honda.
3. Can't tell if other riders are waving or just reaching to cover their ears like everyone else.
2. Remembers the last time a Harley rider waved back, he impaled his hand on spiked helmet.
1. They're too tired from spending hours polishing all that chrome to lift their arms

LMAOOOO THAT IS HARSH """""""""" BUT FAIR :thumb:
Bakerman 25 July 2007, 09:40 Dont like choppers as such but do have a harley and two other modern performance jap bikes. If people got over this crap thay have against HD then they could move on, if you use it for what it is designed to be used for the big 1500cc twins are excellent, if you want decent handling/ground clearance then buy a bike fit for that purpose.
ONE 234 25 July 2007, 10:53 i dont care what people say, its just jelousey to me, when we ride to shows or places like box hill (in surrey) there are hundreds of sports bikes, and they all look the same, ive even seen riders trying to identify there bikes by looking at the number plates.:freak3: :D
they all look the same also (power rangers)
out of hundreds of bikes on display..the custom harleys attract the biggest crowds.
not to every bodys taste i admit, but that workes for me too, i dont like riding with my ar*e in the air.
also, my bike goes UP in price every year, jap sports bikes go DOWN every year.
still, the up side is, if i ever "see the light" :D and want a sports bike, i can sell one of my harleys, and buy three:norty:
plus i dont see the red & white riding sports bikes, and try calling them names.

Sbradley 25 July 2007, 19:44 Great bikes, and each to their own :)
When money doesn't matter and I can justify having more than 1 high days and holidays bike in the garage then there'll be a Harley in there for sure. As well as a few other things that I've always wanted but couldn't live with as an only bike...
And please, folks, if it's got 2 wheels and an engine then it's still going to be more fun than a car. So less of the petty bitching, yes?

Buddy, lighten up. Its a JOKE. But all the same...I ride my bike because I like to ride. I could not give a fark who looks at my bike and get no sense of satisfaction or anything for that matter if people are gawping at it. But hey if that works for you and gives you the thrills-fine. The list was just a bit of fun. If you can't laugh at yourself sometimes others generally do it for you.

slightly unfair mate, you post a list of humarus things about my/harleys, and when i defend them you say lighten up??
secondly this is NOT a forum for sports bikes?? its for all bikes.
and you call yourselfs "proper bikers" (your post)
harleys were around long before jap bikes were even thought about, and went through 2 world wars as mainstream transport.
read the statastics about bike deaths, and compare the sports bike/harley figures,
and there are far more harleys out there than sports bikes (over 25 million world wide)
also as a parting shot...the fastest drag bike in the world is a harley (of sorts :lol1: )
so dont be upset when someone defends an action started by you.
firstscoobdude 26 July 2007, 21:19 aye !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!
more harleys than sportsbikes ,,,,, im not having that ! surely not , cant believe theres more hd.s than yam / kwak / suzi / hon / aprilia and so on and so on .
i must ave seen 200 + sportsbikes on sunday , and not 1 harley ......
and the fastest drag bike has gotta be a purpose built top fuel bike running in the nhra , { well according to the official drag site , top fuel are the fastest } problem with drag bikes is they all run in different classes .
the fastest bike in the world looks like a bullit with 2 very small wheels sticking out of it , but your missing the point . defend your passion by all means , but not by slagging of every body elses .
p.s. "right turn clyde"

I repeat its a joke and as for the stats about bike deaths...well you're too busy polishing the farking things to have any chance of being killed aren't you? More likely to die from infected piles after spending so much time sitting on the floor with your duster and brasso :D Or maybe boredom from trying to spot people looking at your harley like its a penis extension :D Fastest drag bike??? Straight line speed? Yawnathon or what? Lets see what happens when it hits a corner :D
Bakerman 27 July 2007, 09:37 Lets see what happens when it hits a corner :D
I bet SB is quicker on a big Harley than you are on any sportsbike !!
As I said before each to their own and horses for courses, if it is a lovely sunny evening and I want to cruise I take my HD and for me at that time it is superb and wouldnt change for any bike, when I fancy a blat I take one of my others. For me there is nothing more sad than grown men all turning up to bike meets on their shiny things to look at each others machines/talk rubbish etc whether they are on HDs or sports bikes and lets be frank a whole load of middle aged men buy sportsbikes to ride to the pub and back. When the UK grows out of this sports bike thing it will be a better place, I spend a lot of time in France and they have the best attitude to bikes I have come across and aren't obsessed with this image thing that the UK is. The fastest guy I know rides a twist and go 500cc scooter ffs and he dont hang about.
SimonD 27 July 2007, 10:00 Spot on Bakerman. I've yet to ride a bike that I haven't enjoyed in some way.
The UK is astonishingly narrow minded when it comes to bikes.

yep im afraid so...more harleys made than sports bikes.HD are over 100 years old, dont forget your equating this to UK, in the USA you cant move for them. (japan also strangly)
and i wasnt slagging off everybody elses bikes as you say........................................... just the oppersite, i was definding mine against a couple on here that wanted to slag off harleys.
i love sports bikes, i have owned a mv augusta, and several jap bikes (gs1000, kh 750 etc)
i just prefer slow bikes, as i have an addictive personality, and would proberly kill myself if i had a bike that could go over 100mph (my bikes maximum speed is 85mph:lol1: ) im also not a good enough rider to handle a hi-powered sports bike.
got to go, my orang-u-tan needs feeding, now where are those orios.

Well we're never going to find that one out as I don't own a sportsbike :D

i go to florida every year for daytona and the supercross , and believe it or not the sportsbike thing is getting huge out there now , and i see far more sports bikes in that area at that time , trouble is they lower them and polish everything so they dont end up going round corners 2 fast , mind you there aint that many corners out there !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
nice 2 see your sense of humour is intact {a whole godamn bag of orios }
theres that clip 4 ya :thumb: lol quality.

Don't forget though, if it wasn't for the blatant protectionist policies of the Reagan administration, Hardley would be dead and buried by now;)
The irony is, Hardley are now campaigning massively for the Indian Government to withdraw their own exact replicas of those protectionist policies, because HD are now on the wrong end of them:lol1:
BTW I've nothing against HDs personally, each to his own I say, but they don't float my boat;)

I think some Harleys look stunning, still my favourite though is the Fat Boy out of Terminator, probably the coolest looking bike i've seen
DRUNKNORGY 17 August 2007, 08:40 The Senior bike I do like, and the biker build-off shows I find very watchable as I am an engineer.
I owned this bike (900 Triumph Adventurer) for a couple of years before I got my ZX6R and enjoyed it immensely (it was a 120 mph bike though and the frame geometry was based on the GPZ900 so it did corner) It always drew a crowd when I parked up (i bought it as a cat D and rebuilt it)
If I commuted on it in the winter, it was 30 minutes of riding and 3 hours of cleaning (which was a the final nail in the coffin).
I'd have a VRod any day as a summer toy if I had the spare wedge and nothing better to spend it on, but after watching my line managers 1500 Harley sportster dissolve through 3 winters till he sold it last year, I'd not want the agro for any amount of 'kudos' which the owners feel the bikes carry.
Lol at the 'Power Rangers' comment though, I have to say that I always think of YMCA when a tasseled Harley rider goes past ;)
