So we must all want somewhere to properly play.. I personally would like to practise powersliding and dont like to do it too much on the road. I'm not over keen on the idea of doing a track day with loads of other doppers... and would ideally like somewhere like Elvington (where you can actually go and play). Anyone any ideas?

Elvington is the best place for it! you wont find anywhere thats gonna let you risk for life unsupervised chances are it wont take long for the fuzz to arrive and bust ya.
If you have any driver skill in you then you'll be able to avoid the "Doppers"

so track day it is then.... a few people from where i work go to bruntingthorpe every now and again. I think it is about £400 for half a day to hire it out, but there is loads of space and it doesn't work out that much if there are a fw of you.. just wondered if there is somewhere like that round York area.. but you might be right, track day and trying not to crash into doppers :)

Na not to my knowledge.
Elvington half day sessions are about £65 but you have to sign up on the day for those(there is a limit to numbers though). Full day our approx £120 and you can book online. Javelin Trackdays | Book your trackday here (http://www.javelintrackdays.co.uk/trackdays/trackdays.html)
might see you there one day :thumb:

you want a driver improvement day rather than a trackday.
We've just done this at Alconbury airfield in cambs with Ben Elliot racing, but they go all over...
Highly recommended. Everyone had a great time and learnt plenty.

try Loading... (http://www.Bookatrack.com) - they do Elvington track days, c.£120 per day great value!
It's an abrhasive surface though so watch the tyres...
WYIOC go in September, (and April ?)
It's a reasonable surface, Rally-X circuit, but I killed two tyres and managed 6 mpg !!! Oh ! and boiled my brake fluid !!!!!!!!! Average 10 minutes per hour, doesn't sound much, but easy on the car. From 9:30 to 5pm-ish.
Cost about £30 to enter, 6 cars per session, overtake on permission only !
Superb fun

P.S. my ex-boss used to run a rally stage on Breighton areodrome, if a club was to approach them a deal may be done ??
