View Full Version : My first trackday pics
talizman 13 July 2007, 17:18 Had my first trackday last Friday at a soaking wet Knockhill! :luxhello:
Its fair to say I have caught the bug big time and can't wait till try it again (dry!)
Not necessarily a riding style that Rossi would envy but I was seriously sh1tting myself about binning it :D

Normski 13 July 2007, 18:03 Who organised the track day?
I want to do one on my bike but the Knockhill ones are always fully booked. Do you have any links for the track days at Knockhill?
Thanks.
X30NGO 13 July 2007, 19:18 How tall are you?!?!?You're dwarfing that 6! Pity it was wet mate.
talizman 13 July 2007, 19:21 Normski,
All the details are on knockhill.com mate, I just phoned and booked.
X30NGO,
I'm 6'2" mate :)
btw, she's a 750 ;)
TURBOHIGGINS 13 July 2007, 21:16 Good pics, have a k7 600 , The track is safer than the roads ,
Gonna had to try one soon on the 600. Good luck way her.
X30NGO 13 July 2007, 21:48 haha, i thought twice about putting 6 when i wasn't sure, but i thought it had to be a 6 as you looked so big on it!! ( i know the 750 ain't really any bigger but bloody hell you fill that bike!)
I like your leathers too mate, which A*'s are they??

:D As you know the 600 and 750 are identical machines except the engine and colour schemes. They are dimensionally identical in every way so you could be forgiven for mistaking it for a 600. ;)
Your right about the size.... at 6'2" I reckon I am on the upper end of the comfort scale. Any bigger and it'd be too small. I've done quite a few 200+ mile non stop runs and I've yet to be uncomfortable. The adjustable pegs help and it is one of the "bigger" 600/750 bikes.
My leathers are RC-1 two piece and match the bike nicely I think :)
X30NGO 13 July 2007, 22:43 haha yeah mate, you could give me your feet and stand on your stumps. Then you'll have more space and i'll be able to reach the floor on my R6 when i glue your feet onto mine haha.
Yu never said what your leathers were  lol.
Bongo

BrettC 14 July 2007, 18:20 Nice pix talizman. I'm really keen to do a track day but don't feel I'm ready yet. (two weeks of riding experience)
jjones 07 September 2007, 11:10 bah wrong thread, but still..
have a look at a k1-k4 they are a lot bigger. i am 13 stone and 6ft1 and my k1 is just te right size.
DRUNKNORGY 07 September 2007, 12:09 I binned my bike on my last track day (ran wide off the racing line after the chequered flag went down and the front washed out on the corner :( ), then the skies opened up big time and the rest of the day was abandoned.
Was still fairly pleased with the sessions though as I manged to pass a few R1 and Gixxer thou riders on my 600 :D (in the inters)

I can completely relate to that mate. I went back up to Knockhill a few weeks ago, this time in the dry
I found that me on my "measly" 750 was much quicker in the corners than lots of the guys on litre bikes, and several times I had to alter my line when going into a bend behind a bigger bike or else I'd have hit them.
It made me realise how many guys are out there on R1's Fireblades and ZX10's but they can't actually ride them!
What frustrated me the most was barrelling into a corner behind someone who is twitching about on their litre machine, obviously unable to handle it, then as we exit the bend and I go to pass, their extra cubes allows them to pull away from me, until they approach the next corner and make an @rse of the it all over again. This process repeats itself until my big brass b@lls permitted me to brake really late and pass them prior to entering the corner thne it was ta ta! ;)
Now, K7 Gixxer thou....... Mmmmmmmm :thumb:
