What do we have out there that I might like..
I'm quite tempted by a new fireblade/R1/1098 but the thing is, they are all to focused for road use day to day I think (having never ridden any of them).
I'd like a bike that I can ride all day and not feel like i've had a kicking, looks awesome and goes well.
My firestorm has 50K kms on it and it starting to get a bit long in the tooth, I don't need to go any quicker than that really and I don't see any alternative to another newer firestorm really.. There must be some choices out there as I'd like a change..

super blackbird is the 1 for you. can do nearly 190mph but is as comfy as a leather chesterfield armchair, they look the business and do everything well. you can tour on it or take it on a trackday.. they never go wrong and for the money you get a lot of bike... there a honda cbr so its already a winner ..

I had a Hayabusa - awesome bike. Comfy for mega miles too. Was the first bike i got my knee down on, on a track day!
Also thought my rsv mille was fab too as it was very comfy and quick. Again easy to do large miles on, suprisingly!
Now have a 99 firestorm that Ive just bought. Cheap enough not to feel guilty if i don't use it every day! Just had the forks rogered too and feels much better. Also used a spacer under the rear shock and dropped the bike at the front by 5mm to sharpen things up. Very happy with it now. Serious scratcher!

I think those 2 are about all that cuts it.. Will have to have a go on a mille though :) I'd love another twin

firestorm is only about 89bhp a new 600 4 makes more than that. the new Ninja hits 109bhp standard.
How about a GSX750 ? Handles like a 600, goes like a train and supposed to be very comfy.
All depends what it is going to be used for really.

IIRC the firestorm is 110bhp, but being a twin it makes a 600 4 seem a bit like a 2 stroke ;)

Sure the RIDE i have this month lists it as 89bhp. Fair amount of torque though. They rate them quite well but the feature is a comparison of big twins so you might want to grab a copy!

EDIT MCN says 97bhp so possibly 89 at back wheel? Still stiffed by a 600 4 ;)

Just spent about an hour on the Ducati website, I think the 1098 may well be the best looking thing on the planet outright.
