Hi, my brother has one of these cars with very bad water marks on the roof bonet and boot lid. The paint has dulled badly where the water drops have sat. How do you get these out? Have tried Megs #83 with a cutting pad on a pc which improved it a bit but still very noticable.

have you clayed and cleansed the car?

how many passes did you do with the pc and on what speed? did you break down the polish properly?

As above, need a bit more info on the method, but chances are if a light cutting pad and #83 didn't lift the etching then you may need either a rotary session or even some wetsanding done. Water marks can be a royal pain in the bum to sort out, any chance of some pics along with the extra info on the method? :)

pretty much the same thing at the end of the day isn't it? the water has etched into the unprotected surface causing the paint to fade.

Agreed, still an ethcing effect of sorts. There's only one thing for it... harder polishing, by rotary, with a paint thickness gauge to hand. You'll be needing to nip off a good few microns to make headway, and even then a 100% spot on result isn't gauranteed, as the depth of the fading might be deeper than the paint thickness you can safely remove. However, regardless, a rotary is going to be needed to make headway. :)
