can anyone advise me of the best way to improve my94 uk classic impreza's handling on a budget of £700 and i need 4 new tyres out of that aswell (only get's used on the public road's no track's)

Uprated rear anti roll bar, solid drop links, anti-lift kit and a geometry set up.:)

Ditto, most cost effective rear ARB is an STi take off (Mine off Ebay was £13.50 delivered with busjes and so was a straight bolt in swap), make sure you get the later 20mm, not the earlier 18mm.

As for drop links, I've modded the stock one using spherical bearings (as used on 6 speed lever for rally cars!) as a cheap option.

no idea why people spend loads of chassis mods when the front end is like a lump of spaghetti :D

I pay about £350 for F1s (205/50/16), the rear droplinks about £60,replaced the steering rack bush for a Powerflex uprated jobbie £35 (approx), suspension set up about £50 and track rod ends replaced.
Going into corners is a hell of a lot more inspiring (and fun).

Also have a set of coilovers but they were already fitted to the car.

Car is 93wrx.

The basic car does need to be in good condition as Sticky rightly says.
If the foundation is weak so will be the result after all the work to improve it.

thats £465 spent

£235 or so left (not sure if i would relly benefit from the alk and it will eat quite alot of the £235 i have left)

was thinking maybe some springs aswell and decent alignment set up.

total £222 plus extra for alignment.

Prodrive springs will do it well and with the alignment you won't look back. I have a set of STI for MY53 and prodrive springs that Im going to put on eBay or here soon but dont know if they would fit your car

Jut the anti-lift kit and geometry. I have this on my 98 STI. A great start to improving the handling. It’s very neutral now rather than understeer dominant (track tested). Combined fitted cost was about £300 (I also needed a camber bolt so the rear camber could be matched up side to side). That leaves you enough for good tyres. Btw, never ever skimp on tyres, otherwise you are just wasting money on your other mods.

will the new bush supplied with the arb fit into the bracket designed for a smaller 19mm or 20mm standard bush.

although its 13 year old its got just over 100k with full subaru service history
not long passed mot and cant hear any knocks or bangs usually associated with, ball joints

but i cant find any receipts for them ever being changed either.

The steering rack bush is very easy to do takes about 10 mins (i watched the mechanic do it though) and my steering feel is definately better paid £20.
With the rest if you get more confidence to push in the corners (and you will:) ) the £250+ on bits will be worth it imo.

mine has 110k and i changed all mine and it made a VAST difference ;)

cheers sticky i just had a quick look on ebay and got some rough prices but if i could get them at the price you paid then it will be worth doing .
going to have to have a look again as most your prices you paid are half what ive seen.
