Jabdhut 20 June 2007, 21:01 Well, they are all good bikes. My tuppence worth for one you havent mentioned would be an Aprilia RSV or RSV Factory instead of the SP1.The factory model has some nice extras!.Something different to the Jap bikes, its down to the individual at the end of the day.
Cheers.
aRSekicker 20 June 2007, 21:10 hi m8 nice bikes the aprilla rsv
only kind of ruled them out as seat height rather high 4 me
but main reason is few of my friends have had really bad probs getting bits 4 their aprilla bikes ?
Paddi70 21 June 2007, 09:01 Millies are good bikes and handsome things, but can be a maintenece pain as your mates have said.
Your choice of bikes so far, well all are good. What age are you looking for. I borrowed a K6 GSXR 750 for a week last year and was smitten by it. if I was getting a new bike thats where I would be heading.
Only ended up with the blade I built it from a crash damage Cat C purchase. Having built it, I love it. Typical Honda reliability and ride. I know some they RR5 and on are boring compared to other 1000cc bikes, but for me its right.
With the cash you have got your spoilt for choice.
Go to your dealer ship, on of the big ones, have a chat and explain what you have, select a few and test ride.
Just remember with that money, make sure you make the most of the test ride. Hate to make a £5000 mistake on a SP1 (V twin) when you really want the full four.
Enjoy:thumb:
jameswrx 21 June 2007, 19:43 SP1 is a great bike. Get one with some cans and a power commander though.
R1 and gsxr 1k are faster bikes, but the sp1 feels solid on the handling front, sounds superb and has some good midrange (and suprising top end for a twin) It's also (importantly) different!
I've had all 3 and once you get over the rush of the r1 and gsxr the SP1 is my favourite, it's got character.
I do like early R1's too, but at that money I guess you're talking injection models?
You'll get an sp1 for £3500 too
jay knowles 21 June 2007, 20:25 The guy who works for me has just bought my07 6oo kawasaki he has nothing but praise for it.Im not a biker but it does look nice in black. He also goes on about slipper clutch etc.JAY
fbladerrv900 22 June 2007, 01:21 Lets be honest ,stop avoiding the real answer... LOL
GSXR 1000, any of the bread from k3 to k6..
just check out the bike mags, its the daddy and has been for many years, you can talk this bike has got this and that bike has got that.... but all round every day or track bullet its the one to have....
Had the blades/ dukes/ zxr/..
The others mention are wicked bikes and i guess its down to personal taste but you wont go wrong with a gixer mate.:thumb:
jjones 22 June 2007, 08:40 gsxr 1k are fantastic bikes (i have a k1) but don't let the magazines and pub talk fool you
YouTube - MCN: Can a £1500 sportsbike beat a GSX-R1000 K6? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rSyPkiTgifU)
any modern sprtsbike is fast enough, the determining factor is not what peak HP figure there is but the skill of the rider.

absolutely, possssssssitively correct my good man.
However, as most folk are districtly average riders, feel free to by the fastest thing in a straight line you can you make up the difference.:lol1:
my vote gsxr 1000 (well 750 but you haven't mentioned em), fast, modern, blah blah
or sp1 if you want something special that'll still catch folks eye in 10 years.
Basically if you change em often then the gsxr if not the sp1

X30NGO 22 June 2007, 10:15 awww mate!!! you're in the position i want to be in!!!
If it were me, i'd have an all black gixxer 1000, K4 or K5. Definately!
If it's not for you, i'd go for an R1. I'm on an R6 at the moment, and suppose i'm a bit of a yamaha boy. Althpugh there is something about the black gixxer that just hits my spot hahaha.
Autotrader - SUZUKI GSXR 1000cc (http://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/www/bikes_popup.jsp?did=28334&pageid=1&originalid=&gid=nogroup&tid=8&make=SUZUKI&max_records=200&sort=3&dealersearch_full=SEARCH&start=7&distance=0&adcategory=bikes&channel=DEALERPAGE&id=200723288438725)
New indicators and this is amazing!!
