not hard chap its like a car
pull in the clutch select first gear. let the clutch out slowly and a few gentle revs and you away go and find quiet area to try it

learned the Mrs to change from twist and go to gears in a morning on Ind est

It's quite easy after the initial getting used to it phase. You'll need to think about coordinating both hands and your left foot at the same time, which can seem quite tricky

i know it sounds daft but its easier to learn gears on a big bike as its not so crucial to select the right 1 as bigger bikes pull in any gear ie 25mph in 6th pull the throttle back and oit will just pull away smoothly. just be careful mate if you'v never ridin geared bikes before. just let the clutch out slowely with minimal revs to prevent flipping it. good luck im sure you'l be fine

Just do everything gently, take your time and you'll be fine. If you can control a clutch with your leg, you ought to be able to do it with your hand. It does take a bit of getting used to, but I think it's just a case of practice for most people.

Be sure to practise hill starts on a very gentle slope!

Ive been riding bike with gears since I was 10 so a grown man should find it easy!

Work out where the bite on the clutch is and jobs a good 'un!! Most bikes are one down and 4/5 up!!
