R 5C0DBY 26 December 2001, 23:36 after goin in 2001 (not in the scooby)! am goin in 2002 in mine just wondered if anyone else wants/are goin? Richard Askew 27 December 2001, 11:12 ...theres a fair few of us going I think.... Squizz is having his stag do there....yay!! :D ChrisB 28 December 2001, 13:43 15/16th of June isn't it? Richard Askew 28 December 2001, 13:50 ....hope so...get to miss mothers birthday if it is... :D ChrisB 28 December 2001, 16:07 Oh deary me - my birthday weekend. Be rude not to.... :D Steve Gibbins 28 December 2001, 21:08 15/16th June is the confirmed date, got a brochure and info thru from Just Tickets a few days ago, so we'll be booking up soon. Lets hope for better weather than last year!! Steve R 5C0DBY 28 December 2001, 22:36 yeah had to stay drinkin last year dam shame! just to help us all out really i got details from motorracingtours.com prices are 129 campin only but if any better prices any where plz let me know! Mike Burton 31 December 2001, 14:33 Im supposed to be going, funds allowing. -- Mikee Squizz 04 January 2002, 10:13 It's not clear form the Page & Moy info I have whether that tour price of £129 includes a general admission race ticket... So you may have to spend at least another £35! Otherwise it does include ferry/eutotunnel crossing, breakdown insurance, and a camping permit. Paying more for hotel accomodation also gets you a parking permit for the circuit. The list of peeps for my Stag-Do currently stands at 20! Might be a bit of a hit on my credit card when I make the order!!! Squizz 04 January 2002, 11:45 Just found another good site: http://www.lemansrace.com/ :D Reidy 04 January 2002, 14:47 I will be there but probably in a friends Porsche. I will make sure we flash/entertain any Scoobs on the trip! Steve Gibbins 04 January 2002, 19:39 There is a really good site that has a lot of info on what is happening at Le Mans and confirms who will be going etc. www.maisonblanche.co.uk Steve [Edited by Steve Gibbins - 1/4/2002 6:41:22 PM] [Edited by Steve Gibbins - 1/4/2002 6:42:21 PM] R 5C0DBY 04 January 2002, 20:09 well im gonna be the reddish blue scooby followin the silver c-type jag!!! dad needs me to follow as got no boot space !!! he he T5NYW 05 January 2002, 18:46 Squizz, I will probs take the gas guzzler along:D:D if the New STI 7 doesn't come off:eek: Tony Squizz 07 January 2002, 10:25 R 5C0DBY - We should have a C-Type in our group too! It's a nut & bolt replica, finished in Suede Green. When you've sorted out your travel arrangements, let me know! C-Types... :D Our convoy is looking good: 2 Impreza MY99/00's, an MY01, a 22B, C-Type, TR7V8... :) :D Squizz 08 January 2002, 10:12 Steve - Excellent stuff. :D I have to say, the organisation for a large group of people in different cars is a nightmare. images/smilies/mad.gif I think I've organised all the cars & people now. At last I can contact the agencies to get decent price quotes. I'm currently planning a Portsmouth to Caen ferry crossing. Which for us means something like a total of 6 hours driving, with a decent break in the middle. :) Can't wait! :p Squizz 10 January 2002, 12:10 Reidy, you might want to check out the Porsche Club of Great Britain Le Mans group. Click here (http://www.smartgroups.com/groups/pcgblm) We'll be waving at anything with a Union Jack, GB Sticker, etc. :D Squizz 10 January 2002, 14:33 Ok who out there can recommend any of the camping areas? Richard Askew 10 January 2002, 14:41 ...yup :D RobinSherwood 10 January 2002, 16:04 Hi there, I'm planning to go - hopefully with a few friends. Squizz - Whitehouse is IMHO the best place to camp, usually lots of nice cars in their so the majority of other campers respect your car - not the case in all the other camp sites. Robin ian_sadler 10 January 2002, 16:58 Can sombody put me on the very interested list please. Been a couple of times but would love to take the Scoob. :D Ian Squizz 11 January 2002, 14:52 Robin - Whitehouse? How close to the circuit is it? R 5C0DBY 11 January 2002, 19:52 if robin means maison blanche(white house) then its right at the edge of the track squizz! was actually parked there last year! looks as tho our travel arrange are going from dover to calais as only an hours drive from essex! not sure wot day we going yet but probably leave on thursday to catch all the practices too! Squizz 12 January 2002, 13:26 Maison Blanche = White house! DOH! images/smilies/mad.gif I simply didn't make the connection. So much for my O level French  . It just seemd a name out of the blue... "je suis tres bete" (there's a circumflex wotsit in there somewhere!) Steve - Looks like my lot will be travelling over on Thursday. We'll have an early start from the Midlands to catch the 7.45am ferry from Portsmouth. Gives us a good chance of getting a half-decent camping pitch, and a chance to check out the open pit-lane on Friday. :) R 5C0DBY 13 January 2002, 23:08 he he about the only french i can remember! well should be bookin ours this week and looks like a thursday run to dover for the drive from there! my dad done the portsmouth a couple of years ago,but after doing dover last year reckons the ferry is too boring for that long! so while your sittin on a ferry for 6 hours we will be enjoying the toll roads!!! steve R 5C0DBY 13 January 2002, 23:09 oh yeah will probably look at camping in maison blanche to so more than likely see ya there! Squizz 14 January 2002, 09:51 Looks like our band of pirates will be camping down in Houx Annexe, which is the "Catch all" I believe?!? C'est la vie. I don't mind - I'm just going to go and enjoy everything, and learn from the experience. I'll then be better prepared for next year! ;) Squizz 17 January 2002, 12:18 Hmmm... I'm sure our jolly-japes and adventures (avec pictures!) will make fine reading as an article in "True Grip". Must remember to journal events as they happen. ;) AJF 20 January 2002, 13:09 just got tickets going over on the friday takeing the p1 over hope to see some of you bown there adrian simonma 20 January 2002, 18:59 http://www.beermountain.com/mainpage.htm I'll be there.
