Winzip will not unzip, it says larger than 4gb.

any ideas please

 

Don't suppose you can ask the person who created the Zip file to compress the original data into a Rar file instead?

Or ask them what "zip" program they used to create the file. The same program should be able to unzip it again...

 

Sure it's not just a ISO renamed as a zip file? Do you know what it contains because if it's a DVD film then that could be the case.

 

It contains the Sims 2 with a number of expansion packs. It's not an image, and I am assuming that is has been created using winzip as extension is .zip

 

where did you get it from? download winrar and see if that can open it.

 

Got is via a torrent client. I have tried winrar, this throws an error. Which may indicate that the zip file is corrupt. (Although I do not think it is).

I do not have a winzip recovery tool.

 

I suspect it's either corrupt then or as I said it could be the format has been changed to zip but it's actually an iso. If that is the case some programs will see it as such and you can burn it as an image. Not sure if Nero will do that.

 

It's defo not an ISO as the zipfile contains a number of files. (I do have a free download zip recovery tool that gives you some info)

 

You could try going to the shops and buying a legit copy!

 

I already own a legit copy, the game belongs to my eldest daughter, however the media has become completely unreadabe. She has got a new desktop and the disc will not read the media so she is still using the game on her old laptop.

In fact i also own the ps2 version

 

Download it again, its likely thrown a wobbler during the download
