Any idea what this white plastic spacer is for?

The spacer is there to prevent the bump stop from pulling vacuum when compressed. Vacuum would pull the oil through the seals out of the damper.

Another Q -

Just looked at my AST's, sat in the garage, the 4 of them say 4622S - and then 035, 036, 037, 038, 2 long, 2 short ones. Came with std STi top mounts.

Which pair are fronts, which rears!!
