God knows with the new changes though, there are probably plenty of loopholes for them to slither through. Bang out of order though, hope you get somewhere with it;) spuddy 14 May 2007, 13:09 http://bbs.scoobynet.com/non-scooby-related-4/604951-fecking-council-can-they-do.html  :brickwall I am a lettings manager - we ask for c/tax exemptions all the time for our empty properties- as long as there is no furniture/ curtains/ food / clothing etc in the property- this would then be classed as unfurmished - and you can claim an empty exemption on the property - as far as them entering your house( if you own it) they can not do this unless they have a court order. How did they gain access?? and how do you know they gained access? You will have to probalby provide proof that you both are living at the other address from a certain date good luck :thumb: spuddy's wifey Blue Dragoon 14 May 2007, 14:01 They called my wife and told her that they had "accessed the property" (the garden???) and in their opinion the house was still occupied. We have already provided our new Council Tax statement from Cardiff!!!! Roll on Wednesday 9am. Russ71 14 May 2007, 18:39 Thats the council for you mate, they had no right to enter the property, it was'nt theirs to do so, , hope all goes well on Wednesday giv them what for, but keep breathing :thumb: DannyBoy007 14 May 2007, 19:09 I'd be opening a can of whoooppparse if someone from the council had trespasted on my property!!!!!! subarujimmy 14 May 2007, 22:17 I'd be finding out how they "gained access". And if they didn't have a warrant, they are liable for trespass, providing you've got it in writing from them, they don't have a leg to stand-on. |
