View Full Version : WRC Argentina *CONTAINS SPOILERS* Distinguished Gentleman 04 May 2007, 20:12 All todays stages cancelled:wonder: (apart from super thingy tonight). Was there ever a bigger cock up in a WRC event? DG dynamix 04 May 2007, 20:13 wondered why there was only one stage result so far :? Jonnip74 04 May 2007, 20:25 It's getting a bit of an embarrassment now isn't it... 300 odd miles between the first super special last night and the first stage this morning!!! Crazy.... and they whinge about keeping Rally GB local to South Wales...... If they can do this in Argentina, lets get GB back up North a bit!!! skyblueracer 04 May 2007, 21:08 The reason for the canceled stages seems to be that the cars and drivers were being flown the 300 miles and the plane was unable to land due to adverse weather conditions .Well thats like holding the first stage in London and the rest of the stages in Scotland. All rather stupid and some people are questioning the first stage in Ireland being 100 km from the service park. It's easy if you don;t have to drive the distance ,is this a new style of rallying that the FIA have not told us about. Perhaps the FIA are testing yet another rule change for 2008...:lol1::freak3: skyblueracer 05 May 2007, 20:02 Anyone see the day one low lights on Eurosport today . So i got it wrong they put the cars on transporters and took them by road, i thought they were trying to cut expence . How much did that cost?. Anyway the biggest laugh was seeing the drivers trying to sleep on the floor of the airport very very funny. Chris L 06 May 2007, 00:22 It's getting worse - apparantley a local women has been killed after being hit by a Group N Impreza driven by a local Argentinian driver. :( SirFozzalot 06 May 2007, 12:14 Petter is out. :brickwall Engine problems on SS17. :( He was running well. 3rd overall and putting in some good times. :( Andy Murdoch 08 May 2007, 12:30 Another poor weekend for SWRT - Petter retired with engine failure due to radiator damage. As this event has caused so many similar problems in the past I would have thought that this would have been comprehensively tested and prevented? 7th for Atkinson - the rumourmill suggests he could be heading for Suzuki next season. He has never produced the results at Subaru and I'm sure drivers like Meeke could do a better job. Early doors in the championship but Loeb is nearly out of sight already! 4 wins from 6. Gronholm can't even beat him and we are witnessing the Schumacher of rallying, just about unbeatable on every surface. Is the new 2008 Impreza changing to a hatch version an attempt to regain competitiveness with Citreon, Ford? The days of Scoobies winning rallies is becoming a distant memory. rallyfan1977 08 May 2007, 15:49 I still can't believe that they loaded the cars on to transporters so that the prima donnas they call WRC drivers could travel by plane. Back when rallying was rallying there were competitve legs on some rallies that were almost as long as this, drivers thought nothing of distances of 200k's to drive between stages. Now they can't even do it by plane - pathetic Chris L 08 May 2007, 18:55 In fairness to the drivers - I don't think they wanted to travel that distance between stages - the whole organisation was a joke really. Call rally drivers a lot of things, but prima donna isn't one that really springs to mind. I reckon they may have done serious damage to their chances of hosting future WRC events - there are plenty of countries queuing up to host them. They could do a lot worse and reinstate the Australian rally! |
