Morning,
After a manly weekend of cutting down trees and branches, I now have mountains of stuff to get rid off.
It was suggested that I turn it all into chippings to cover flower beds, and surpress weeds.
I presume a chipper does this, how does this differ from a shredder ?
Ohh and some Bl**dy wasps turned up yesterday and started to move in.
Thanks
Del
If its small brush type stuff a chipper wont touch it, and if its big thick stuff then a shredder will blow up :D
Get both in :D

Best money I spent last year was a Bosch shredder from Screwfix. About £200. There were cheap ones for £100-ish and a £400 one as well. Mine is called Quiet or similar and it is. I reduced a garden full of branches from a tree to 6 black bags for the recycling dustbin men.
I recommended the same to a friend who bought the same thing at B&Q on a week when they had an extra 15% off. £170 was a real bargain.
It will shred branches up to about 35mm diameter - amazing.
Cheers

I had the same - mountains of the stuff. I ended up buring it all, didn't take long and was much fun!
I was returfing anyway so had lots of space, but you could always get a steel drum from the scrap yard, drill some holes in the bottom and sit it on some bricks?

I/ve just put a load on my beds, and the difference is well worth it.
I didn't shred it myself, I just blagged it from a local allottment :thumb:
