Hi,

Ive just bought a new back protector to go under my leathers (feeling old and fragile:)) but this leaves bugger all room for anything else.
Can someone recommend me something very thin that will keep me warm- I normally use a jumper but having tried with the new back protector, I thought I was going to burst!:(
I went to Hein Gericke and the bloke showed me some stuff -think it was alpinestar- but I didnt much like the price tag. Anyone tried or got one?

I know its the wrong time of year but I feel the cold a bit in the mornings and like riding on winter sunny days. Plus now I have a back protector I may as well use it.

Indeed :)

Get a bit of speed up and then leap from your bike. That should do it... :thumb:

Go to one of those mountaineering shops and get yourself a couple of "wicking layers". Super thin long sleeve shirts, they look like they are made out of tea bags. They stink in no time at all but you want a few layers, rather than one chunky layer. Lycra t shirts from M&S are good too. Failing that, a paddock jacket is exactly that, a jacket for wearing over leathers in the paddock.

Once you're out on track, your very movement should keep your core temperature up. If you are wearing full race leathers on the road, you might not actually move around enough to generate sufficient body heat. I have a Hein Gericke fabric suit which works for me. Would look a bit daft on race rep but I don't ride one currently.

Screwd.

I wear long sleeved/legged thermal undies, think they are Pringle make from Matalan.

Another thing to look at is ski wear thermals. I have a roll neck top that is very thin but very warm and pulls right up over my neck so perfect for the bike in Winter.
