lol, funny read. To be fair tho, there are horror stories out there about almost every single dealership in the country - or the world for that matter! I bought my STI from Donnellys and they have been brilliant with me, couple of silly niggly things they sorted out right away and when we were dealing for the car they were pretty good and I got everything that was agreed without question.

I know they have had a big turn over in staff recently in sales, including the sales manager mentioned on that page. I recommended them to a couple of pals & they have had much the same experience I have.

i cant comment on after sales service but having been in the market for an 03/04 STI i was delighted when donnellys got some in. My excitment was however short lived when i discovered that they were priced at £15995 and £16995!!!

The sales man really didnt know what he was talking about telling me that the prodrive kit took several seconds off the 0-60 time!! and that an aftermarket dump valve stressed the engine due to increasing the intake of fuel into the engine.

These things i can live with but what i couldnt handle was seeing an STI taken to the red line within 20 seconds of it being turned on, both myself and Daz felt like saying at least let the car warm up!

Good ending to the story is that ive just bought an 03 STi from Eastwoods saving myself 3k on donnellys prices (still with a 1 year warranty)

Sorry lads, will never ever buy a car from them. I tried to buy from them last february, but they were so twisted and untruthful about their prices that i told them to get lost.

I was able to buy a car £2800 cheaper with 15k less on the clock, and no hassle, at a really good subaru dealer in lisburn.

Then i started getting harassed from the Donnelly boys who all of a sudden dropped their price to match the other reputable dealer and even tried to get me to back out of my deal with the promise of free wrx number plates and by slagging off the other dealer (unprofessional and nasty).

Now this is not the problem, it was the fact that they assured me they could not drop a penny when i left the dealership (money in pocket and wanting an STI type UK) and then the phone calls. Something in line with the plague. If a dealer is up front and as honest as a car dealer can be then that counts for a lot. That got me thinking, if the service end of things is conducted in a similar fashion then my REPEAT business will remain elsewhere.

The last visit to Donnelly with markymark34 just compounded the problem, with cars being treated very badly when cold and obvious bending of reality to try and conjure another sale.

Now i am not naiive when buying cars, i have dealt with many dealerships and even more salesmen and am very aware of the whole bartering process that goes on before a purchase, but no thanks.

Is it just me or will a little honesty and integrity go a long way??

Recently went down to enquire wheher they could give me a printout as proof of the timing belt and clutch change they carried out on my car at 54,000. I was told that as the car had changed ownership since their service that under the Data Protection bla bla bla bla bla they were unable to give details of work done during someone elses ownership or give me the wriiten confirmation of the clutch and t/belt change ... even though I was there with the car and tax book as proof of ownership.

Awkward c**ts !!

Go back to them if you can be bothered mate - the data protection act is there to protect data about people - you aren't requesting data aboout a person - its details about the car - cars are not proteced under the data protection act.

Another good example of the incompetence of this outfit - I have some first hand experience too. According to Paul Donelly the locating bolts could have fallen out after his workshop had done a clutch change. I asked him to clarify that it was acceptable for bolts which in my opinion shoudl have been torqued tight would just fall out - he said they could work loose and fall out!!!

I asked if he would be good enough to have them replaced and properly tightened to which he replied that he would - but at my expense. I took great delight in telling him where to put his bolts and how to tighten them!!!

Citizens advice then a nice wee solicitors letter. By that logic why would you get a service book with a car and all the stamps. they are a complete bunch of t*****s. the continuing saga of bungalow donnelly :hjtwofing
