I've had a credit card with them for several years (affiliated with my old university). Initial interest rate was very competitive, but since I pay the bill off every month I don't take any notice these days, so it could be crap now. No bad experiences.

 

I've had a few (just adding up,..... three, think!) "Buy now pay later" deals that are financed by HFC and they have always been good - everything is done as you would expect and the few times that I have called them they have been really helpful.

Unlike Time Retail Finance (Comet) who managed to foul up my account big time. They set up the direct debit but tried to draw on it immediately (a banking no-no) and that caused the direct debit to be terminated and my account went into arrears. I got a snotty letter so after checking with the bank what had happened, sent an equally snotty one back and got a ten pound apology. Got the direct debit set back up again and exactly the same thing happened, but no tenner that time
