If not... am pretty sure one could be created.
Just a matter of moulding, sculpting fins, moulding and then casting the completed item...

I wouldn't by anything from a company that sells those +45bhp resistor kits for £4.99

I think a company should only sell the products they believe in.... any company that sells those things will tell and sell you anything and most of it is sh8t

It is off ebay but its the full carbon one that attaches to the roof rail guide and also 3m double side tape on the backing. item number 290105416852

Classic version is cheaper than the newage.. I have mailed them for a price on postage, if it's not to bad i may get one, i just cant justify the £150 scoobyworld want.

Shame you have ordered as i was going to order one of the Carbon Fibre heat shields they do for the exhaust.

The only thing that puts me off a little from ordering from the US is you get stung on the UK import customs duty  .

I do have a mate going to the US mid next month, i wonder if he could get the Vortex panel in his suit case :wonder:

They offered to mark it down as a gift, this prevents the import tax/duty.!

Even if i do get stung i will still pay less buying both of those items and the postage from US than i would if i pay scoobyworld for just the vortex generator alone.

They must have over a 100% markup on that thing to charge £150

Got it now.

didn't have any duty or tax bla bla etc to pay so thats :thumb:

First impressions of this vortex thing when i took it out the massive box... bejesus this is big, will it really fit on my roof.!

Tried a dry fit (without the M3 tape) and it sits perfect. No modification required at all.

downside.. you dont get anywhere near enough M3 tape to hold it in position. Ideally i think it should be bonded on with something more than tape but i just dont want to do that to the roof!

Task this afternoon is to go and get some tape.

When its on the car it looks very aggresive, i'm not 100% sure if i'm going to keep it with the carbon look. I may have it sprayed in the cars colour.

----------------------------------------

I also ordered the (real) carbon B piller inserts... they are sweet.. really sweet.

http://www.scoobyparts.com/acatalog/CARBONTRIMS-300.jpg

Scoobyparts sell them for just short of £70 (didn't realise these were a genuine subaru extra!).... i got them for £15

Easy to attach..

once i wash and clean and i'll post some pic's up.

Hi Rob,

I've been thinking about doing something similar so i'd be interested to see the results.

If it attaches to the roof rail guide whereabouts do you have to tape it? Do you tape this thing to the bodywork or the rear window? If its the bodywork do you think the tape will mark the paintwork?

The last thing I'd want to do is damage my paintwork!

Sorry for all the questions,

Cheers,
Rich

The rail guides dont really hold it in place, it just slips under them to give a cleaner look.

The tape is fitted to the underside of the vortex generator, which then is stuck to the roof. 3M tape will come off with heat, i.e hair dryer then rub the residue off with pannel wipe. It wont damage paint work if removed by this method.

Cheers

Well its on,

now i got to go buy bloody batterys for the camera to take some pics for you lot!! lol

To be honest!!! At the very least it needs a coat of laquer to give a more glossy look like the paint work.

At the moment its a sort of dull matt finnish carbon effect and it sort of stands out a bit to much on the black car, the black paint work makes the vortex thing look grey. If this was fitted to a Blue scooby it would be fine.

First off I'll laquer it at the weekend when i have more time on my hands, depening on how that turns out, it may just get painted the same colour as the car.

I'll be the guinea pig, it will only cost me a few £ for the paint as my mate owns a spray/repair garage and i've been forced into learning how to paint cars... i say it like its bad thing.

Well........ come on!!!! let us see :D
How far have you gone for those batteries?
