Hi,
Want to do some track days this year but don't want to use my Gixxer.
If I bought a cheaper bike to use for this purpose, didn't bother with TAX/MOT/Insurance and transported to the event on a trailer/van would I be ok to use it?

Yes you see plenty of people riding track bikes, but remember they have to be transported and you still have to keep them intop condition.

I went to Brands Hatch last week to see get an idea of whats what. I have done a few days at Brands with the scooby, but fancied taking my Honda CBR600 to the track. I dont think I'll bother after seeing some of the chaps out there!
If you are going to buy a track day bike, go along to a few days to see what other people are riding. I was shocked to see KTM's going round the outside of sports bikes at Mclaren / Clarke curve prior to been overtaken down the straight, then KTM's round the outside again at Drudis - total madness!
I thought I could ride a bike, but realised I have far to go! I may go in for a tuition day, where you follow an instructor round, then get faster as the day goes on.
Worth going to a few first though to see what the score is. And almost all of the bikes were non road bikes, taken there by van, and most in top condition (you can walk round the pits and check them out)
