I've just got me a 350D (cheers Pumpkin) with an 18-55 and 70-210, and wondered if my old steam powered 35mm Canon EOS600 is worth anything these days ?

Had a quick look on eBay and there were half a dozen with no bids :( Also got a 28-70 and 70-210 Sigma lenses and a Tamron 2x convertor. The convertor seems to work with the 350D, as does the 70-210 lens with the convertor, but the 70-210 on it's own fouls the mirror (error 99). I also have a Miranda CAF32 flashgun, which connects to the 350D and fires the red focussing beams, but won't fire the flash. I guess this is incompatible too ?

So, as a kit, 600, 28-70, 70-210 and flashgun, all in a camera bag, can I expect more than a tenner

Hi David, I don't think you're going to get a lot for your kit unfortunately as the camera is almost 20 years old and with the prices of DSLR's falling all the time, digital is a real viable choice for people starting out so there won't be much of a market for it.

Donate it to a worthy cause. My old film kit went to my neice - she wanted to use film  and has taken some great pics and is learning fast :)

Local school?

Keep it. Its nice using film now and again.

I sold my F5 to a mate and got an F80 in px so I still have a film body. Its nice being old school now and again.

That's what I thought. I'm not enthusiastic enough to use film for films sake, so a relative or good cause shall benefit.

Thanks for confirming my suspicions.

Nah, I'm not a keen photographer as I simply don't have the time these days. Bought the 350D secondhand as I could not justify £600+ on a new 400D for the use it would get, but I do like to have quality. I realised a while back that film had become such a hassle that I just didn't bother with it, so quite a lot of life events have passed with no memento's so I had to catch up and go digital. Will ask around the family if anyone might have a use for it (uncle and cousin have always been avid photographers but will already have good equipment no doubt) and then maybe offer it to a local school/college/uni to help someone with any course they may be doing.
