Can anyone recommend me some new rubber for my 2001 R6. I previously always replaced with Dunlop D208's as that was the original tyres on the bike from new. I would prefer feedback from experienced people who have experimented with new rubber on this particular model bike.

Hello to you!!

I am a experience rider and I am also selling motorcycle tires and I will say DUNLOP QUALIFIER to 100% :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy

I did ride under 7.40 at Nürburg ring last summer which is under the lap record with the same tires!!

208's are a bag'o ****e! Had them on my old zx6r, then replaced by bt014's which gave so much more grip and confidence. Here good things about pilot powers now too, so:

You want pilot powers or bt014's.

It all depends on how and when you ride....BT014s have a terrible wear rate, 208's have a very tall profile, Racetecs are really for the track..etc..etc..etc

Like most products, some people have a brand loyalty and Michelin tends to stay around the most popular.

I myself have had BT010s on my first zx6r, and loved them (I was a novice rider and the gripped well for the limits I was pushing then), on my second zx6r(b1h 03/04) the previous owner had left a rennsport on the front and a 208gp on the rear....supprisingly this was a good combination. When these wore out I changed to BT014s and was totally unimpressed and couldnt wait to get rid of...didnt have too long to wait for that. Ive currently got supercorsas as Im spending more time on track than on the road, but for road tyres I shall be choosing Diablo Corsas IIIs.

for what its worth:

Diablos/Diablo corsa - from experience v-good
BT014 - good but wear out
Pilots 2cts - fast friend loves em
Avon Viper ss - my current tyre, about same and the pirelli's

i presume you are talking road tyres?

then you reeeeealy don't need the uber sticky stuff, its pointless on the road.

I have Dunlop D208RRs on a Blade and I like them:) Lots of feedback.
I also rode Silverstone on an 05 R6 hire bike last year with the same tyres.
I had BT010s on the blade before- sticky but they have no feedback of impending doom and also overheated:(
I've heard good things about the Corsas but dont think I can get them in 16" front for the blade.

Just got rid of my 010s last week and replaced then with Avon Sport Vipers. All i can say is the differance is like chalk and cheese. The Vipers have so much more feedback and grip, but saying that they were a rather old pair of Bridgestones....Vipers deff get my vote!
