When I switch on my boiler it makes aload of clunking noises and the pressure drops and then pings up again. Not sure what it does after as I got scared and switched it straight off. :(

Any ideas? Its a Vokera Flowmatic.

Get yourself onto the Screwfix forum and ask in the plumbers sections, you're more likely to get a quick answer as there are plenty of tradesman lurking.

sounds like poor circulation, the banging could be the boiler actually boiling the water in the heat exchanger as it can't get away (probably the pump)

without looking at it, it will be hard to say, but Vokera boilers havent got a good rating, but it could be air in the system, also do you find that when the heating is on your pressure raises at all.

To be honest I haven't had the heating on since it started it yesterday. All I know is that when I switch the hot water on, it makes alot of banging noises, the pressure drops right down then rises and it seems ok.

keep the boiler switched off, bleed all radiators but make sure the pressure doesnt go below 1 bar, then top the pressure up to 1.5-2 bar after bleeding the rads

Well had the engineer round and he says there nothing wrong  Surely it ain't normal for it to do what its doing :wonder:

It did it once when he was looking at it but I did try to explain to him that it only does it first thing in the morning and then again when I get in from work so basically if its been sat for a few hours.

Suppose hes the expert!
