Hi everyone, trying to get the upper fairing
off my k4 gixer 600. Got the mirrors, indicators,
under panel off. So far i've taken out six screws either side,
three/four plastic clips (underneath h/light), two screws (underneath h/light)
and two screws either side of the clocks - how the hell does it come off !!:mad: Not wanting to crack it with lack of patience but it's going to be burnt soon:wonder: ??
Thanks,
Craig.

Hi Craig,
From memory, there are:
3 screws either side attaching it to the lowers;
2 bolts either side throught the bases of the mirrors;
4/5 little platic clips underneath holding the filler panel in;
3 little plastic clips either side attaching it to the lower inners;
1 screw either side through the inlet ducts (I think)
Is there something on the back of the headlight? I think there is, and that's also screwed into the fairing!
I got mine off the first time by throwing it down the track at high speed. But when I did it under more controlled conditions I think I:
Undid everything
Lifted the fairing off the "ears" where the mirrors are
Pulled
Went back and undid the bits I'd missed (headlight screws I think)
Eased it forwards and down past the headlight (undo the screws holding it to the fairing - much easier to reach)
Easy!

you need to unscrew it from the front subframe / cradle / clock headlight bracket , which ever you prefer . either unbolt this from the frame and leave it all togeter or unscrew the cradle from the back of the headlight , made easier by removing the clocks and then you can unscrew the headlight from the top fairing , then its just unscrew it from the side panels . not forgetting the poppers on the fairing infill panels underneath and any screws to the ram air scoops .

Cheers lads, from memory i've removed two screws either side of the
clocks (four in total)and a further two that are located right under the h/light that only be gotten at when the infill panel was removed. I take it the headlight can still stay connected when removing the upper fairing ?? It's doing my bloody head in !!:brickwall Gave the fairing a wee pull and it just wasn't wanting to go - little bugger.
